This will definitely be on my list of games to play with others, even if brawlers are never a favorite of mine. This one is direct, fun, with a great Look and Sound, and tho it definitely has the coin eating mechanic like them all, it was reasonable enough. It would be even more reasonable with 1-2 others helping me …

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is "that" game I always heard about, I maybe saw once or twice in an arcade but I never "really" played, maybe because it never appeared on home systems. I finally played it recently and I had so much fun. It's one of the best scrolling beat 'em up I ever played, inventive, varied, stylish and with great mechanics, so precise, that never feel like they are taking advantage of you like oh so many classics from my childhood. No, in this game, if you get crushed, you always feel like it's your fault. Very, very nice.

Awesome setting for this kind of game

Platform:

Arcade version.

Graphics/Sound:

It looks great, just like any arcade beat 'em up, with many explosion effects and characters dying in slow motion. It also has a cadillac and quite a few dinosaurs in varied environments.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is as simple as any beat 'em up with linear levels. There is only 2 buttons, one to punch and …

There is only 2 buttons, one to punch and one to jump, yet you can perform a few special moves by combining some button. You have 4 characters to choose from but it doesn't really matter which one you choose except for aesthetics.

Difficulty:

I played this on emulator, and I didn't really count how many coins I put in, but it did not feel too hard. I managed to beat at least 2 bosses with only one coin in the beginning.

Conclusion:

I liked this one very much simply because the setting and the environments were so entertaining. Every level had some new elements and it didn't get boring. Definitely one of my favourite beat 'em ups so far.
