Look: 9/10
Not that it actually serves as a world map/level select, but I love the look of this world map/level select-esque screen, showing all the different settings you will be playing through.
And lol yessss, the cat on the broom enemy is precious
Sound: 7/10 Some good jingles, just wish it didn't rely so much on whatever the name of that tacky, typical Halloweeny song is. Can't recall its name rn. The whole look is incredible. Even as I was getting really frustrated with the beginning segment's controls, moving the monkey past the obstacles while dealing with the incredibly sloppy collision masks with the bird and monkey, I didn't stop mostly because of the Look. Like the sand/lava vibe that comes at the end of that first segment, loved those colors.
Play: 6/10 By no means great, but I oddly kept pushing through despite the silly/tacky gameplay and poorly-done collision masks. At least the different gameplays were clever and not overdone tropes like most action games of the early and mid 80s, I can't say I played any games with the same mechanics as, say, controlling a monkey tied to a wizard with the directional pad while hitting at …

At least the different gameplays were clever and not overdone tropes like most action games of the early and mid 80s, I can't say I played any games with the same mechanics as, say, controlling a monkey tied to a wizard with the directional pad while hitting at birds with your tail. In level 2, so to speak, (Ravens), the controls continue to be a bit wonky, tho clever. I like the ideas and everything but the shooting mechanic is quite clunky.
Feel: 7/10 Love love love the look, especially the "world map"/pause screen. And I love the oddity of it all: I tend to like witch/Halloween-themed media (tho I tire of the overused jingles), and the concept and gameplay are unlike any other I've played so far. Unfortunately, the gameplay was just too clunky to get past the third "level." Still, a definitely unique game
Attachment: 7/10 Doubt I will replay this, but I kinda want to to see if I can be patient enough to get further. Otherwise, just moving on!
Completion: To the third screen/gameplay style Playtime: ~ 40 mins
