I've been a bit sick the past few weeks and turning to shovelware-esque DS adventure games as a comfort food of sorts. This one however was honestly not too bad, especially compared to its immediate predecessor, Secret of Olde World Park, which had an extremely linear and hand-holdy progression. This one actually feels more like a 90s/early 2000s era old-school style detective adventure where you actually explore and do puzzles at your own pace without being told exactly where to go, and unlike, say, Black Mirror 2003, I didn't find the story too disappointing because I had basically zero expectations going in. The endgame I will admit did feel like it came out of nowhere and I was never able to open the iron box because I didn't actually figure out the intended way to solve the nixie tube/dials puzzles until the game was basically over, but I can't complain too much. The music was also surprisingly neat in places.
