A New Favorite Arcade Game, I Missed It The First Time Through!!

Look: 7/10 I mean, honestly, I can't claim to have really even noticed the graphics except maybe the animation when your base is destroyed. Perhaps that is more so cuz they were overshadowed by the very amazing sound. These were certainly well-done graphics for their time.

Sound: 9/10 Wow, yeah. I mean. At first I thought it might just be annoying beeps and boops. But as long as you keep shooting, and as the game intensifies, it just becomes this beautiful somewhat chaotic symphony of sounds. And then, when you do finally blow it and die, the sound is an incredible noisey arggghhhhhhh feeling. Perfect. This is the epitome of the arcade era, if only it included a music background this would be an easy 10/10 (which I almost gave anyway ha)

Play: 9/10 Wow, I was surprised by just how much I loved this. I knew I loved the 1st stage parts of Cosmic Ark, and specifically this game was listed as similar to that 1st stage. Even tho I came in expecting the joystick to shoot automatically like in Cosmic Ark, this felt like a more valid arcade shooter (indeed, it was released 2 years prior after all). …

Even tho I came in expecting the joystick to shoot automatically like in Cosmic Ark, this felt like a more valid arcade shooter (indeed, it was released 2 years prior after all). But it really pulled it off. Fast-paced, but made me feel competent. I couldn't believe how long I could last, and just how many times I replayed. Great arcade game, glad I stumbled upon this one along my way. I'm starting to realize, I have to add all Midway games to my list.

Feel: 10/10 I made my goal to beat 100k, which is probly petty boots to most gamers, but I'm glad I did it! I pushed through and did it! Great feel, great sounds, great gameplay. Yes.

Attachment: 9/10 I already did replay it ha, but even more so, I know this will join the other greats like Head On, Robby Roto, etc. as epitomal arcade games I return to. And to think this was so early, and so good, and tragically missed on my way through this era! Smh. Glad I came upon it.
