Axil the Able stood in three inches of stagnant water and surveyed one of the most dismal dungeons he had ever been thrown into... 30 seconds earlier, he was sitting in front of the ox-roast in that famed haunt of the Occult. The Golden Thurible engaged in his favourite pastime of Wizard-Baiting. What a good story Axil was telling - a new one about Therion, a certain Moon creature and a rather gullible Elf- really, the sudden silence ofhis audience should have warned him. The crowd parted as Therion strode across the floor, dangerous in all his 10 degrees. Therion … More

Unique Graphic Text Adventure With RPG Elements, But Not Worth Exploring Deeply
This review is for the ZX Spectrum version

Look: 8/10 Interesting how you see the character moving on the screen. Also interesting how it plays like a text adventure but feels like an RPG. I like how the text adventure part is in the center of the UI. enter image description here'

The walking animations seem very advanced for their time, at least for a Speccy game. Those Trolls are real freaky looking enter image description here

And I love this blue enter image description here

Sound: 7/10 Great intro music, otherwise no Sound really except Speccy clicks.

Play: 7/10 Not a fan of it being real-time rather than turn-based. Nor the usual text adventure/RPG style sudden deaths.

Feel: 7/10 Not sure if the Look can get me to push through this. The text adventure commands are really dragging down the potential RPG in this. It is fast-paced enough, but I see I'm not even halfway through and it's alreayd starting to drag... and what an insane amount of navigation

Attachment: 6/10 Welp, I thought maybe I would push through in the end, was about to go through the Wolf-Door and then some giant enemy appeared and killed me in 2 hits :-p Unfortunately, the cool Speccy Look and unique mix of text adventure and RPG aren't enough to …

I should've been saving throughout, but indeed, the fact I didn't feel like it says a lot heh.

Completion: About to enter the Wolf Door Playtime: ~25 mins
