Beautiful 2.5D platformer, but not without flaws

Platform:

Nintendo 64 version.

Graphics/Sound:

The graphics is the major plus in this game. Everything look really beautiful, the lights are atmospheric, the scenery is lively, the characters look like you know them from the cartoons. Graphically it's prefect. The bouncing sound might be a bit annoying but it's certainly tigger.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is 2D platforming in a 3D polygon environment. It's nice and simple. Sadly there is also nothing really creative going on. You got to collect a certain amount of honey pots until a level is considered finished, even if you find the exit earlier. Levels are linear with no alternative paths, just some side tracks from which you always have to return to the main track. There is a few minigames between levels, like rock paper scissors and other stuff.

Difficulty:

This game is for little children. It's extremely easy, so it's not feeling much like an accomplishment to beat a level. But one of the major flaws of the game is that the explanations it gives are unclear and sometimes even missing. In one of the minigames I lost a few times until I got behind what I was supposed to do, because no explanation …

But one of the major flaws of the game is that the explanations it gives are unclear and sometimes even missing. In one of the minigames I lost a few times until I got behind what I was supposed to do, because no explanation whatsoever was given. In the end where I got the tail jump it took me half an hour to find out how to do the damn jump just because the explanation only said "press the button" instead of having the courtesy to actually tell me which button I am supposed to press. So here it's extremely inconsistent.

Conclusion:

This game is cute and beautiful to look at, but sadly less fun than could be, simply because the levels are too uninspired and easy. Except a few surprisingly cryptic details that are hard to figure out.

Amazing 2.5D platfromer, good music, feels like a proper disney winnie the pooh game. Is a little short.
