Final Fight 3 is a 1996 progressive fighting game.Capcom, the producer and distributor of the game, did a great job.The story of the game is as follows. After the defeat and subsequent disappearance of the Mad Gear Gang, a small group known only as the Skull Cross is responsible for a new uprising of vandalism, terrorism and death. Normalcy1's review of Final Fight 3

Game #14/200 Final Fight 3 is basically a shittier version of Streets of Rage made by Capcom. As I understand it, Final Fight came before SoR, and I actually dipped into the first Final Fight before playing this one. I was shocked by how much overlap there was between the games -- very similar enemy designs, healing items, backgrounds, etc. Final Fight 3 looks quite good. It's a gritty looking game with some appealing pixel art, but once again it's nothing special. The music is also decent but doesn't touch Yuzo Koshiro's work. You can have a bit of fun punching through FF3, but don't expect an amazing time. It tries to separate itself from other beat 'em ups with branching pathways, which is a good way to promote replayability especially considering the very low difficulty. The game is generous with lives/continues (I believe they give you 5/5) and dying is not too frequent anyway. My biggest gripe with the game is how redundant the enemies are. It's odd because this didn't bother me in SoR 1-2 or TMNT IV, but here it's such a slog. The game also gives you what you want a little too much in combat. …

It's odd because this didn't bother me in SoR 1-2 or TMNT IV, but here it's such a slog. The game also gives you what you want a little too much in combat. You can easily pull off your throws, combos, hadouken (yes, you have something like that), etc. But it is never too satisfying because the enemies' health bars are just a bit too large. Otherwise you have mini bosses literally ripped from Streets of Rage -- you've got your fat guy, your Souther-wannabe, your wrestler -- they're all there and they are EVERYWHERE in the game. You're constantly fighting the same battles. Weapons also suck in this game. But with all that said, I had a nice time with FF3. It's a pretty OK beat 'em up, just completely overshadowed by your superior options. Full disclosure: I got to the final hallway and then accidentally reset my game ...... so I didn't fight the final boss but I had 4 continues remaining and I checked out the final battle on YouTube so I feel pretty confident that I didn't miss anything. I don't think I'll ever play this one again, and it may have killed my "beat 'em up arc" for now, but it wasn't a bad time!

Classic Capcom Brawler
This review is for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version

The fighting gets repetitive, even with special moves attributed to each of the four characters. If you're a fan of Capcom beat-em-up games, this definitely hits all the notes though. Every playable character and enemy is a thinly-veiled rehashing of someone from the Street Fighter roster.

Short review

Final Fight 3, for SNES

Rating: 7.3/10; Good

Final Fight 3 is extremely similar to the first 2 games, being a 2D brawler beat em up played on an isometric view that gives an illusion of 3D. The ground consists of multiple planes, and you generally need to be on the same plane as an enemy in order to hit or be hit, though I found the hit detection to be more forgiving than in the earlier games.

Controls have been slightly improved with the special attack now having its own button, and some new moves being added. Double press “left” or “right” to run, though I dislike this style because it is easy to be used accidentally. There is a kind of dodge which uses the same controls as run, just in the opposite direction, though this is too difficult to pull off in the thick of combat when you need it. Should have been assigned to a single button (like the one that is not used at all).

It is nice that different moves are performed depending on whether or not you are running, and now there are super special moves that require a meter to …

It is nice that different moves are performed depending on whether or not you are running, and now there are super special moves that require a meter to be filled up. Unfortunately, there is no list of moves and the required button inputs to perform them in the game. Great additions include 4 playable characters, each of whom gets an introduction in the opening and a very minor story arc, the ability to play co-op with an AI, and destructible backgrounds.

Overall a significant improvement over the first 2 games, though still very short and could have used more weapons.

Probably played this as a kid, co-op. Hard to say though. Beat on expert as Haggar immediately after beating the first 2 games, also as Haggar.
