Just like Call of The Sea, this game has my same pet peeve as some survival horror games - only having one singular gigantic puzzle at a time. Most of the game is walking around, empty space, some bits of lore, and finding an occasional clue that is just one part of a ton of clues you need to find to solve one singular puzzle.
I much prefer games like Lorelei and the Laser Eyes or even Resident Evil 1-3, where you juggle multiple puzzles that kind of interlock. When a game is puzzle-heavy, I think it needs this kind of interlocking design to really feel like a game… otherwise it’s just a borderline walking sim.
So same as Hollowbody and Post Trauma, this just didn’t grab me. I love the developer’s OTHER game American Arcadia… but this first person puzzle genre they’ve been dabbling in just doesn’t do it for me.
