Not their best, a step back again!

Another COD-game. Was on sale for €20 so I thought I try it out, can sell for the same amount after.

Usually just like to play the campaign and that’s about it. Mostly played multiplayer in COD during my Warzone-period just to level up guns. Didn’t plan to play now either but because a friend played a lot I joined in! Some new cool maps since I last played. A lot of new weapon to get familiar to as well. When I got used to all new stuff it was quite fun to kill some time with quick rounds of games.

The last campaign was a good step forward from the one before that. In this new they take several steps backwards. They made a weird choice to make the campaign more suitable for co-op with 4 player. If you play solo, all cut scenes includes the four players but gameplay is you all alone. Makes it harder to play solo too.

You also need to connect online, so you can’t pause the game even when playing the campaign solo. If you need to do something in between (which happens quite often when having kids) you get kicked out for being idle and need to start over the whole chapter.

So that thing ruined it for me. Last two chapters I actually joined my friends campaign, when I thought I would joined him in multiplayer. That last two chapters was more fun, but still not that good.

Many sections of the game is you hallucinate really weird stuff, because inhaling toxic gas. I don’t really like that part either. I prefer the earlier more linear campaigns.

Probably one of the worst COD campaign ever. Multiplayer part of it takes the low rating up a little bit, which was quite fun.

We will no longer do back-to-back releases of Modern Warfare or Black Ops games. The reasons are many, but the main one is to ensure we provide an absolutely unique experience each and every year. We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental. While we aren’t sharing those plans today, we look forward to doing so when the time is right.

I'm not invested in this series but I have no faith in their words considering they were caught using gen-AI for this iteration.

This is the worst COD campaign I've ever played. It goes beyond being boring and phoned in and becomes actively annoying and unfun. Some of the worst boss fights I've seen since the PS2 era. You'll find yourself expertly moving through an area only for a smoke bomb to go off on top of you and out of that smoke bomb 30 enemies will instantly spawn in from nowhere right on top of you and body block you until you die and there's nothing you can do, all because you were too good at the game and progressed to the objective too fast. I can't believe how bad this is. I'll take Modern Warfare III's series of bland open warzone maps ANY day over this trash.

Wow i thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this

Coop Campaign is the most fun ive had in a black ops campaign. Fun to do the missions with actual people - brought back the old days of doing couch coop with friends

Multiplayer took some adjustment to get used to the pace of the new gameplay loop. Its much quicker and more agile but doesn't feel ridiculous once you know how to build and play around it

Zombies is also really fun. I tried it out for a few hours and left it for those who enjoy the bullet sponge experience

All in all came in skeptical but tried it because i had game pass. And left really pleased. I could even see myself spending 40-50 dollars to keep it but probably won't Dont listen to the haters, try something out yourself before casting it away

Tried out multiplayer in splitscreen (I’m not the one who bought the game), and this is just the least interested I’ve been in CoD since Infinite Warfare probably. Last year’s Black Ops 6 was very fun but left me with a feeling that I probably wouldn’t remember much about it, and following that up with yet another Black Ops, I’m just really feeling the staleness where the fundamental fun of the gameplay isn’t enough without some major shakeup or just really good execution. The maps I played here don’t feel like anything special. The sequence of MWII -> MWIII -> BO6 -> BO7 just feels kinda cursed, as MWII and BO6 were really solid IMO but then I can’t be that excited to just do another similar one right afterward that’s recycling maps and the same kind of feel. Hope they can take time to reset at some point and work games like Vanguard and WWII back into the rotation. In the meantime I will probably just keep skipping at least every couple entries if not more as there is better stuff out there to play (including a similar recent game that I may get around to reviewing soon).
