Describing a game as "a love letter" to something is a cliché, but the truth is, there's no better way to describe this work than as "a love letter to Batman's history." Fans of the character will enjoy a fun journey through the cinematic history of the Dark Knight, filled with entertaining puzzles and plenty of objects to find. However, those who haven't seen the movies and won't understand the references and might not forgive the numerous technical issues, the repetitive combat system, or the many minor flaws it has.

Interface elements that refused to activate or deactivate, frame drops, indicators that remained on screen when not needed, delayed loading screens, map geometry glitches, objects that suddenly appeared or disappeared, companions that didn't stay where they should or interfered with the action... and yet, I had a great time hunting for The Riddler (and Cluemaster) puzzles, capturing animals loose on Gotham and laughing at the jokes.
