Played the demo for this! Love its visual style, love how goofy it gets with dumb lil UI jokes, and the prose is having fun. But ultimately it's an unholy mashup of a bunch of genres I kinda hate, so I kinda hate it.

Just for reference though, this is at its core an autobattler strategy game with two distinct phases. In the setup phase, you do match-3 puzzling to gather resources and determine the layout of the map for the battle phase. If you match up all the lakes and fields and surround your base with mostly mountains during setup, it'll be well defended during battle, and there's a bunch of other strategic considerations like that.

In the battle phase, you spend your amassed resources on units and send them out to go fight and chop wood and such automatically. It's vital to pick the right units for the map you've made with your match-3-ing, and to make sure you've got the proper resources to pay for them.

There's also the usual layer of roguelike cruft on top of everything, as mandated by indie law. It's all very clever and I don't like it at all.

Very interesting demo. Super creative genre mishmash paired with some pretty funny writing. I feel like Alice. Looking forward to the full release.
