Having originally released Galaxy on Fire 2 as a mobile game, Fishlabs has spent a good year getting it ready for its iPhone debut. This means more or less starting the game from scratch, as the creators have added high resolution support for retina display, loads of new content, 3D sound with voice acting (English), Action Freeze, Game centre and OpenFeint integration of leader boards, achievements and games saved online.

GoF2 is just a bad game. Every planet is just a space station with an asteroid field. Mining is a terrible "keep the cursor i the middle" mini-game to grind money. Combat is incredibly dull and your hitbox is roughly the entire screen. Every time you leave a station you get a confirmation message and it plays an annoying animation.

Gameplay consists of aiming your cursor at something, waiting for the bar to fill, pressing F, holding Tab to speed things up and then doing some awful "mission".

Early on i took a pirate hunting mission. "What's the risk?" i asked. "Should be no problem". Yeah, i died. I guess you have to grind money by mining to buy proper equipment, since you can't actually dodge.

I wouldn't recommend this if it was free. Go play X3 instead, or even Rebel Galaxy. Don't waste your time on this crap.
