Watching Kratos and Deimos' childhood unfold through a fresh lens, and istening to Young Kratos' thoughts and perceptions of the Gods of Olympus was entertaining. It really revealed how much Kratos' personality and ideologies have shifted over the course of the series. And honestly... that was the best part of the game.
Otherwise, unless you're a BIG fan of the God of War franchise, I find it hard to fully recommend since there are so many better Metroidvania games out there.
I would say that the game itself isnt a bad Metroidvania by all means - it's just that there are other games (i.e. Hollow Knight, Animal Well, Guacamelee 2, etc.) that tackle the formula so much better.
Also... wish Deimos was more involved gameplay wise. Just saying... if this game was actually coop, would have been sick :)
