Jurassic World Evolution was not an incredibly feature rich game when it launched. As time has gone on and free update added to free update. Currently the game has mostly the bare minimum that a Park Sim by the legendary Frontier Development should have. However, there is not a single game on the market with the kind of life like dinosaurs that Jurassic World Evolution has. So what's more important a feature complete park sim? Might want check out Planet Coaster or Zoo Tycoon for that. Or is a game that has realistic(well as realistic as they can get right now in a sim) dinosaurs. I certainly had my issues with the Park creation end of this game. But I always came back for the dinosaurs. And I did so for over 40 hours. So.... I would say the was worth the money. Most of the DLCs at the time of this writing however, only add new dinosaurs and not much else. The Dr. Woo and Claire Expansions are good. But not great. I would probably just buy the base game and if you are in love, then buy the all the DLC. Most of it on PC came be …

Read LessJurassic World Evolution is imagination candy for anyone that loves the movies, and despite its flaws it’s worth playing if you’re looking for a relaxing experience building a theme park full of dinosaurs. It’s the perfect combination of engaging objectives and micro-management to kick back and lose yourself in.
I'm a sucker for world building sims. The first time Jurassic World Evolution came out though, I wasn't very impressed with the reviews. Riddled with bugs and repetitive gameplay is what I heard. Two years later, I found the game on sale and decided to finally check it out.
I finished the game in 2 nights with no sleep. Yep, that's right.
Hooked af and cannot keep the controller down. The simplicity of the game is where it wins along with its own unique cams that really do an amazing job of truly putting you in front of that T-Rex. The game pays excellent homage to the movies. Not so easy as to breeze through, not too difficult either - it's just right and enjoyable.
The fact that you can keep requesting small objectives every 2 minutes and also switch between automating the vehicles vs driving them yourself is a killer addition to the entire game.
Absolutely recommend it and can't wait for the sequel. I feel like I should have given more money for this game lol.
Originally played during release week but just got caught up in other things. But I finally returned to the islands of Jurassic World and it was a vacation I’ll never forget.
The updates that happened in the years since I played really helped with vanishing bugs and annoying issues but I must say my game still glitched and failed to unlock an achievement.
But I love the voice over and the bit of a story mode that it has. It doesn’t dive extremely deep over all but if you go into the ingen data base it really does allow you to dive deeper into the dinos and just the lore of the series as a whole which is nice.
You definitely need to enjoy city builder/sim games to enjoy this as it really doesn’t change anything up. But for me Jurassic world/park is the perfect set up for this style of game. I use to love the Operations game on Xbox back in the day.
Downfall for me is the lack of skins for the restaurant ir other buildings. I wish it wasn’t so generic. Which that might not be the right wording considering each building does fit the JW …

Almost 50 dinos to dig and breed is pretty awesome and they all look great. I even enjoyed doing the keep and helicopter stuff at times just to see the dinos up close.
If you love this style of game you’ll enjoy it. If you love the series you may still digg it just for the dino love.
Intro
JWE is a very basic theme park sim in which you build a tiny theme park with dinosaurs. It's a rather simple game with little depth.
DNA
To find dino DNA you send out expeditions. Your only involvement is picking the type of DNA you want to find and paying a standard fee. That's it. After getting enough DNA you can build a dino. You can adjust its stats a bit but not in a meaningful way. There's no splicing or anything, no hybrids, no special abilities or whatever (you know, like in the movies).
Pens
The dinosaurs are put in pens where they need food, water and their preferred terrain type. You supply food by buying a dispenser and refilling it every once in while. Water is usually present, or you can just terraform a puddle. Same with the terrain. You also have to make sure not to have too many dino's in a pen, and not to mix carnivores with smaller herbivores.
Humans
Humans need a hotel (there's one type) plus food, drinks, toilets and souvenirs. There's no depth here, you just build a restaurant and make sure it has enough staff. You can pick one of …

Humans
Humans need a hotel (there's one type) plus food, drinks, toilets and souvenirs. There's no depth here, you just build a restaurant and make sure it has enough staff. You can pick one of three products to sell and set a price but it doesn't matter much. Same with the other buildings.
Sleepy Buildings
You basically always have the same exact buildings. Maybe more toilets or something if you have a huge amount of customers. But nothing specific like in most of these games. There are also buildings that allow people to watch dinosaurs, bunkers, power plants, monorails and park rangers (jeep/helicopter) to solve problems. But as i said, even with mods/upgrades there is almost no depth and you just build the same stuff every time.
Missions
The actual "gameplay" consists of doing missions. Each island has a slightly more involved chain of missions for each of the three "factions" of your park (security, research, entertainment) but all missions are some variation of "build this kind of thing", "take a photo", "find/upgrade this type of fossil" or "prevent bad stuff from happening".
Missions
Not only is this incredibly dull, the people giving you missions are pandering to you as if you're standing on the edge of a bridge. They'll go "I never thought they would give this kind of mission" and they just want you to take a photo of a dino drinking or something. And you'll do dozens, hundreds of these missions. I actually got sick of even just hearing the damn word.
Conclusion
JWE looks nice and it's easy to play. It's just not interesting and requires you to do the same stuff over and over again (you can't even queue research/expeditions/etc). Also i was going to complain about how they use the portraits of people from the movies but not the actual actors but it is the actual actors (minus Chris Pratt). This game is so wack Jeff Goldblum doesn't even sound like Jeff Goldblum.
Turns out if you don't scroll in far enough, you might miss that there's a section of fence missing in that pen you built, and the carnivores will exit it (but politely keep to the paths! We engineer our dinos with respect for manners here!), and then there's a LOT of screaming and carrying on.
So one thing is clear: I don't have a successful career in theme park management ahead of me.
