Why does this page look different?
We're in the process of merging Giant Bomb game entries to IGDB entries. This is an older Giant Bomb page. It's safe to use, and all data will eventually be moved to the corresponding IGDB entry.
Short Trip is the first instalment in a collection of interactive illustrations created for the web. It has been created as a study into capturing the essence of graphite on paper within a digital context, and to learn more about web-based graphics technologies.
A crazy little thing, five years of development to create a fully hand-drawn (pencil on paper!) game about a country train and its cat-like passengers. Lovely vibes, amazing graphics, not much to do apart from soaking it all in. There’s a more “gamey” mode but it’s really not the point. You can see more or less everything in 10 minutes but while it lasts it’s great. I played it with my daughter and we loved it. Is it worth 1,99 Euros? I don’t know, you choose.
Very cute and very beautiful. It’s simple but the pleasant sound of the tram plus the occasional “meow” makes it very comforting. I played a few rounds of the scheduled version of the game, and it was fun to try to nail the schedule timing and platform position. I look forward to what this dev/artist does next.
A short game drawn entirely by hand is very artistically and technically impressive, which is the only reason I decided to support it and buy it on Steam.
Gameplay-wise? It's cute and very short. Won't hold your attention for more than a few minutes unless you are really into getting high scores in the new Scored mode.
I gave it a 3/5 but honestly it's kinda weird to rate a game like this one... As game it's pretty meh but as a piece of art it's very much worth supporting.
