this game took me a total of 20 minutes to finish, which makes it just about one of the shortest games i've ever played. considering it's free, though, you're getting quite the bang for your none of your buck here.

the good

  • some of the most beautiful graphics i've seen in an indie game, enough to rival some mid-2000s triple a games
  • pretty fun third-person fps gameplay. your character wields a bow, and the controls feel very responsive and smooth. combat is intuitive due to very obvious weak points on the enemies' bodies, a feature that in my experience never took away from the challenge of the game. it rather added to it instead, since your goal is to always hit the weak point for maximum damage, a feat that isn't always easy.

the "meh"

  • the story is nothing special, but it serves its purpose. the devs intended for it to be somewhat educational, so that adds some extra value to it, particularly since much of the profits were apparently donated to several wildlife preservation ngos before the game went free.

the bad

  • far, far, far too short, to the point of feeling rushed at the end. i don't know whether that was the case, but my guess would be instead that, due mainly to the game's fairly advanced graphics, the studio may not have had the budget to go much further than they did.

my biggest hope after playing this game is that the devs succeed in their next endeavors and potentially bring us a longer sai in the future. how cool would that be?
