I did not expect this game to be as good as it is. Friday Night Funkin' is one of those viral games we see every quarter of the year and usually I get tired of them very quickly. And even though Friday Night Funkin' at this point only has 7 weeks, I'm loving it, especially with the dope-ass modding community constantly producing high-quality mod after high-quality mod.
The best way I would describe this game is that it has an incredible personality, but mediocre gameplay. The art style just pops out, there's a reason why the characters in this game, existing or not, have become fan favorites.
The songs, at least most of them are jams, bops, or absolute fire. My personal favorite is M.I.L.F., Jesus Christ the word milf came out of my mouth, I feel guilty now. Roses, Fresh, Blammed, and Ugh are also absolute bangers.
The biggest problem though, is it as a rhythm game, mostly the inputs. That's why I fail in Week 2, or Week 4, the game just can not register inputs that are a bit too close to each other.
That's why when I play this game, I always turn on the Whitty mod and that would probably elevate this game a point or forward. Also, the timing of the notes and the mapping, especially in Pico are noticeably super delayed and it's frustrating.
Week 2 sucks. Spookeez, I believe is the name, is so off-beat, and even though I am slightly sure that is intentional, the song is so bad. It's so random. The second song is fine, I guess it's catchy, but not memorable enough.
Anyway, I hope this game gets bigger. So I recommend you check out the Kickstarter, even if it's raised nearly 1 and a half million more than its pledged goal, I'm not jealous I swear. Anyway:
