Snark Busters: Welcome to the Club

Intro

Snark Busters 1 is a game in which you travel between areas, find parts of objects to use, use those objects, solve puzzles and wait for the hint button to reload because you can't find a tiny object or you have no idea what to do next.

Review

SB1 could really have used a map that indicates actionable areas. Instead, it is sometimes really vague what your next action is supposed to be. Especially because a lot of the interactions make little sense. Having to find about two dozen tiny parts of items in nearly every location also wears you down. It doesn't help that those parts often have a different colour than shown at the bottom of the screen. The game also has 1-2 annoying puzzles you'll probably end up skipping.

On the plus side, the music is really nice smooth jazz, the game looks quite different from most HOGs (weird areas) and most of the puzzles are just fine. The wonky setting and silly news programs add to the charm. I enjoyed most of the 2h45m it took to finish the game.
