Tomb Raider Reloaded isn't a game about overcoming challenge through skill and strategy, but a game about invalidating challenge through numerical supremacy and long term commitment.

When viewed through that lens, I found it's progression systems to be simple and engaging, keeping my interested enough for daily play across 2 weeks.

It's a simple Archero clone with a Tomb Raider skin, but I think that skin fits and is well applied.

Did you know Netflix has free mobile games for subscribers? Tomb Raider Reloaded is one of them. A mobile oriented kind of roguelike top down shooter. You don't actually shoot though, you move Lara around the small levels and she automatically shoots at enemies when you stop. It's a fairly basic premise and could make an okay game, particularly since all the normal free-to-play money grabbing prompts are removed for the Netflix.

However, the game mechanics are still very rooted in a free-to-play style. You have to grind over and over to earn enough coins, gems, and other artifacts. Without this, Lara will be too underpowered to progress. It ultimately leads to the typical repetitiveness we see in mobile games, and not the ideal way I like to spend my gaming time.
