Look: 7/10
This flashing colors title screen looks super familiar, hm, what game was that. Maybe it was the Swordquest trippy room? Anyway, I like it ha.
Otherwise, just functional stuff. I did like the character graphic heh
Sound: 6/10
Mostly just this era's annoying beeps and boops. The jumping sound is classic, and none of it is actually annoying, but meh.
Play: 8/10
I thought I could just jump in cuz it's a single-screen platformer. But after I got all the way to the top, all proud of myself and whatnot lol, nothing happened. So, as usual, refer to the manual before getting far into this. Basically, you're collecting the Bits, not just trying to get higher up :-p (tho higher-up platforms give more points when you collect Bits). I wish you could control the speed of the elevators. Felt pretty proud to get through 2 levels of it! I'm becoming a real boy, er I mean a real gamer!
Feel: 8/10
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I haven't much enjoyed the platform n ladders/elevators type games so far, so this was a nice surprise. Not that it was a phenomenal game, but it realized its genre well and, cmon, I'm a sucker for movie or book-based games. Before I started this chronology project, I mostly just searched for movies, series, shows, books etc. that I like to see if there are games based on them. Probly from being surprised by how good the MSX Goonies games were :-p
Attachment: 7/10
While I did really like this, and it stood out among the countless Atari games released the year before the infamous crash (ahhh, I'm getting so close), it's not like this is my favorite genre nor did it strike me as unforgettable etc. I'm excited to see more games based on movies, like I see Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming up mwahaha. I know people credit that trend, e.g. the infamous E.T. game, as part of the demise of the videogame industry in '83, but I disagree with that. I think there were just so many games coming out, like '81 and '82 have felt like forever in this project. When you saturate a market, plus with new trends and a resurgence of the health industry which demonized videogames, a crash like that can't be surprising. Plus, it's capitalism we are talking about here: speculation and the videogame that is the stock market are not very stable means to guide an international economy heh....
