If you're obsessed with maggots, then maybe you should give this visual novel a try. Pumpkin eater turned out to be a very graphic and disturbing story, which focuses on the decomposition process of a dead kid and how the mother goes completely nuts.

The story is well written (surprisingly with very few grammatical errors), although some things that happened didn't make a lot of sense. Like some decisions characters make, how they think, how they act, etc. I mean, this happens in every horror movie, right? You're like, "why would they ever do that?". Well, that happens here quite a few times.

The art style is very rudimentary. I wish it was more polished to actually show decomposition. In spite of this, the writing was very descriptive... and gross. The music could have show more variation too.

In the end, the concept was good, but it lacked details in some areas, especially the visuals. I mean, it's a visual novel, right?
