Hit 'n Miss

2.502.50 average user rating based on 2 reviews
encompasses 0 releases

The game is similar to Crackshot and Chiller in that one has a limited amount of time to shoot for a specified number of points in order to advance to further levels. Hit 'N Miss, however, is a "kiddie-fied" version of the earlier games with a "soft and friendly" feel. Levels include scenes like: shooting balloons, protecting flowers from bees, carnival-type shooting gallery, etc.

Preliminary: Oh boy another crossbow conversion. I, too, loved Crossbow but this seems to be most of what Exidy's output was! (Imagine my surprise after getting home and reading that this is, in fact, considered a kid-friendly version of other Crossbow conversions :-p Oh me and my lack of development.. of course I liked this one heh...)

Look: 7/10 The look of the bucket filling level was real cute otherwise just acceptable. Technically very rudimentary for an arcade game in 1987 but... I guess I'm a bit biased cuz it had a cute vibe (turns out it was meant to be kid-friendly heh)

Sound: 7/10 I love the carnival type sounds and the voiced "thank you" when you put in coins.

Play: 7/10 I think 2 player would actually be really fun. It's more or less a bunch of different kinds of shooting games in one. I liked the one where you drop apples on passing characters, and the shooting gallery. And well honestly it's all around solid. I wish I could play it with a proper light gun, tho. (Playing this on Arcade Legends machine, and I have to use a Golden Tee type trackball) Really my only complaint with the game itself is, I wish it were clearer what game you're about to play during the level select screen.

Feel: 7/10 Cute, playful, approachable. A game that's about fun rather than showing off prowess. Too bad it turns out I probly only feel all that because it was meant for children, but hey.. if it works it works.

Attachment: 8/10 The fact it was hard to put down till I beat each type of game says a lot. And the fact I added it to …
