Slow Damage

When I think about this game, my mind kinda explodes into a hot mess because so many of the elements work so damn well. The route structure builds on itself expertly, the exploration segments tie into the world building in a really intriguing way, the use of music to reframe the gruesome events as something sacred and beautiful just absolutely kills me. I think it's kind of perfect. It stresses me out. It also stresses me out that so few people will end up reading it due to 1) the gayness and 2) the EXTENSIVE and uh, very well earned list of trigger warnings, this story does not hold back in any facet. But if you're gonna say something meaningful, why hold back? People are fucked up and messy and you don't get thrown under the bus without breaking some bones. It's meticulously crafted character study with the paint job of a detective noir. It's about grimy cities and grimier humans and the coziness born in the cracks. It's about the most unsafe consensual sex you can have. Easily up there as a number 2 favorite vn, and I haven't even finished it yet. I could write endlessly about this masterpiece but I think I'll just send a drink your way and hope it sparks your curiosity....
