Top-Notch Pseudo-3D Shoot Em Up , But I Had No Clue What I Was Doing Lol

Look: 8/10 One of the more successfully "3-d" games. Nevertheless, it still is just too rudimentary for my eyes. I've never been a huge 3-d guy, except for platformers and some RPGs, and especially these early ones--even the isometric Zaxxon--just sort of throw off my eyes as I try to figure out the controls... even with the manual! I do love how earth gradually gets closer, feeling the time constraint of destroying this weapon silo before it gets in range of earth! enter image description here

Play: 6/10 Oh, now I remember why I prefer the Atari 2600: the Intellivision controller has too many darn buttons for my taste :-p I mean, it's no N64 controller, but. It's a fun, technically well-done game, but I struggled with the gameplay. Great concept, great look, and great execution tho. Great for you real gamers reading this :-p If you like early shooters, def play this and don't take my perspective as legit heh.

Feel: 7/10 Flying around pointlessly was my favorite part, because the controls are tight and fun with that. But even with the manual, I just couldn't figure out what was going on lol, those red dots didn't go away when I thought I bombed em etc etc. I know that's more on me than the game, but I'm here just to have some fun! This is obviously a well-done, potentially fun game. And I absolutely love the earth-creeping-around-the-corner-then-coming-into-view aspect. Oh, and they pulled off pseudo-3d well. But just can't claim it was enough for me to push through and better understand what the heck was happening or why certain attacks didn't work like the manual said they would.

Attachment: 6/10 Ironic this game came next on the list, another game first for Mattel Intellivision then later ported to Atari 2600. Glad, after all, that I figured out how to emulate the Intellivision! This is a skippable game for me, but definitely don't skip this if you like shoot em ups or isometric and early 3d games.
