Pac-Mania is a variation on the game Pac-Man. You need to guide Pac-Man around a maze and eat all of the dots on the board in order to proceed on to the next round. Numerous, multi-colored ghosts also roam the maze trying to stop you. If you eat one of the power pellets in the maze, the ghosts will temporarily turn blue and run from you. Pac-man can earn bonus points by eating the ghosts when they are in this state. The maze is now in 3-D and is larger than screen which will scroll to follow the action. To help get out of tight spots, Pac-Man now has the ability to jump. But be careful, because some of the ghosts have learned this trick as well and you could end up in a mid air collision! Read less

Preliminary: Cute enough music wise but wow they really enhanced the graphics here. Looks very impressive for 87. Loved the block world look. Only 4 stages and I'm already done with the first, here goes nothing. I don't love the Pac-Man movement style where you sometimes don't turn at corners unless you're super used to the Pac-man joystick, but it was bringing back memories when being chased by the ghosts heh. Before I knew it, I was done with the more traditional looking Pacman Theater and thennnnn I realized that there are 4 unique stages, but many many more rounds than that lol. Seems it may only be 7 rounds? Or 11... or 19 or 23 or infinite. I'll try to 7 and then maybe 11 and call it after that ha. As long as I see each of the unique areas at least. I should've done the original Japanese version but it's fine.

While nice that they added a Continue feature in the era of coin eating indeed, I was already quite sick of it by the end of the 3rd stage. If only all the levels looked as cool as Block World

It is way more enhanced.

I like this game because there is more stuff than the old PAC-MAN. There is more ghosts, it gets harder and harder, you can jump over stuff, it is 3-D, it's more colorful, everything sounds better, everything looks better, and there is more stuff to collect for points.
