Obtained S ending, though the game was very frustrating and not much fun. This game is pretty much a text book example of how NOT to make a game that I will like, so much so that I took "Off the Record" off of my Steam wishlist and am dubious about buying the first game. I almost regret buying this, but it was only $5. I guess that small amount of money, lots of yelling and swearing, and a couple rage-smash induced hand injuries is not too bad a price for some 20-30 hours of gaming.

It was a good thing I kept multiple backup saves, or I never would have completed the story due to the god damn time limit. Sometimes I had to redo from a previous save, and sometimes I just barely managed to scrape by before the time limit ran out. Almost every boss was frustrating and took multiple tries, except for the ones which had ranged attacks because then I could play the game like a shooter. Killed every boss except the glass shard guy because he was seriously OP; I did not learn dodge until late game and by then I just barely missed the time limit to kill the guy.

I had to use online help for some of the boss fights, and to find out how to get a LMG and a reliable source of other guns. I played mostly like a shooter, carrying several guns and a couple melee weapons (usually the nail bat). I wore the swat outfit, but then had to switch to underwear for a rescue mission. Then the time limits were so tight that I could not change out of the underwear into something sensible. I did manage to pick up a ladies sun hat and hooker boots while waiting for npcs. I figure if I am going to look ridiculous I might as well go all in. I finally had time to switch back to swat in overtime (but even then it was close because I thought the time limit was finally gone and wasted a lot of time just randomly killing zombies).

I really hated the time limit, and how it negatively affected my experience of everything else. Rather than fun, everything was an annoyance. I did not like running past the zombies instead of methodically killing them all in the safest and most tactically sound way possible. Had quite a few deaths and reloads from failing gas zombie quick time events, though there was one time where I had 30 gas zombies dog piling me and they blocked me from dodge rolling out. I still cannot believe I survived that (used the nail bat).

I did take a look at mods. In order for me to truly enjoy this game, I would need a mod to significantly slow down the time limit to the point where it would be impossible to fail unless you spent entire (real time) days fooling around. I strongly considered installing something like this, but it did not come down to that. Some other mods that I would want to use to make the game more my style would be:

-Removal of zombie and item respawn

-Significantly reduced or restricted inventory

-Massively increased weapon durability (except for guns)

-Massively reduced health of all humans, including you, survivors and all bosses. A single shot to the head with a handgun should be death. 1 zombie bite should = death (or require zombrex for yourself for the rest of the game)
