In order to prevent her boyfriend Minto from going to another little girl named Cocco, Papri must collect ten different flowers and return them to her boyfriend's house. Flowers must be caught in full bloom so that the number of flowers in her possession will increase; catching flowers too early will consider the flowers to be wasted and flowers caught too late will be wilted. Wilted flowers will ruin the bouquet, causing the player to lose half of the flowers. Bears have a taste for honey and cause the player to lose one of two hearts if one of them attacks the player. However, the honey can be dropped in order to render the bear temporarily harmless to the player. Bees appear as the player's ally, giving her bonus items occasionally and extra honey if the player catches it on a flower. Read less

Despite the lame premise, the usual impressive SG-1000 colors and catchy tunes and, let's be honest, oddly addicting gameplay got me to keep pushing through. After completing Round 3, though, I figured it was time to call it quits. It's fun collecting the Flowers, planning out a route to be able to wait safely till a row of flowers are ready to collect all at once, etc. But a) I didn't want to hear the wedding tune again, b) the Challenging Stage platforming bonus rounds were clunky as heck, and c) there's actual action-adventures out there calling my name that I'm eager to get to! I mean, this is the year before Zelda comes out! Moving on for sure.

These people really ought to move out of bear and bee country! I did like that you don't kill the bears and bees, just distract them with honey. It's got a very cutesy vibe all around, death has hearts come out etc. Definitely achieves a vibe, despite the tacky premise and limited value in spending more than 20ish mins on it. Oh, forgot to mention that I liked the variety of fully formed flowers. One looked like bleeding hearts to me, a plant I love and will be coming up soon as we approach March! Yay!
