Oh dear. It's fine to do a faithful remaster, but keeping all the bad mechanics is not the point.

Alex Kidd falls like he has lead feet, yet goes from 0 to 60 when moving. No speed build up or decrease making him control erratically.

Alex Kidd falls like he has lead feet, yet goes from 0 to 60 when moving. No speed build up or decrease making him control erratically.

He can't fit under the blocks he punches because his hair makes him too tall. You can crouch, but you can't move or punch.

Enemies just walk and float around, there's nothing dynamic about them at all.

At least they updated the graphics and sound. But that's about it.

I don't hate it... it just feels like a terrible waste. Alex Kidd is a classic series that has the charm that a decent reimagining could have helped shine here.

Just platinum end Alex Kidd In Miracle World DX on PS4. These are my thoughts. I think that the game is good, a pretty faithful recreation of the game, with really good added levels. I really like the difficulty of the game. My first play through I didn't use infinite lives, taking me one week to complete the game. Boss Rush is pretty fun, and it flows through very nicely. Classic mode is good, but is basically the same thing as playing the regular with the old graphics. Overall, I feel this was a really great game, and a very faithful recreation. 9/10. Tell me your thoughts, and please follow me.

A nice remake of a cult classic. Do not expect another Dragon's Trap, you will be disappointed, but Alex Kidd has always been a quirky, bizarre, fun and challenging platform game and that didn't change. The remake has nice graphics and a lovely rearranged soundtrack, you can switch between the new and old look and there's some much appreciated wuality of life improvements. Plus, after completion, you unlock a more faithful (basically perfect) conversion of the original Sega Master System game. If you are curious about the game or if you feel nostalgic and you want to play it again, this is probably the best way to do it in 2021. Even though it would have been nice to have some extra content like bonus stuff, behind the scenes ecc...
