One of my favorite RTS games of all time and still has some things that newer games could learn from imo (like health points for individual ship parts)

Definitely showing it's age at parts, don't get me wrong, but I could play Galactic Conquest over and over (and I have, and I will continue to do so)

Star Wars: Empire at Snore

I played this for a bit before realising just exactly the problem was. The core gameplay sucks. It's rock-paper-scissors with one item taken out. Combat is just boring spamming units and making sure they shoot the right thing. Even compared to older games like StarCraft and Age of Empires 2 this feels simplistic.

I played this for a bit before realising just exactly the problem was. The core gameplay sucks. It's rock-paper-scissors with one item taken out. Combat is just boring spamming units and making sure they shoot the right thing. Even compared to older games like StarCraft and Age of Empires 2 this feels simplistic.

On top of that, the management element in space is shallow and a matter of going-through-the-motions. I liked how the two factions are distinct, but there are so many better management and RTS games out there that it's not worth it at all.
