Ten days after Unreal Tournament came out...there was Quake III Arena. I think I played this a couple hundred hours more than UT, so Q3 was definitely my jam back in '99, leading in to the 2000's. Setting up custom matches against bots on smaller maps made for some unforgettable action packed games, and it all feels so damn good and second nature. I guess it's really a simple arena shooter at its core, but mastering the movement and timing shots with the rocket launcher at range made you feel unstoppable.

I loved this game though. The fragging and the fast action were just perfect. I'll be honest, I received the latest Call of Duty game for free with my graphics card, and I am TERRIBLE at that game. But I remember being so good at this. And I think I still have it, I've been playing a lot of old shooters lately like Doom 64, Blood, along with others.

I was thinking about the Quake series and I remembered I could add this to my Grouvee played list. I know for a fact I finished the "campaign" for what you can call it, along with plenty of multiplayer fun.

The campaign is really nothing... it's just a gauntlet of you vs bots. But the game itself is so fun that I actually enjoyed this enough to do it I think more than once.

The multiplayer is fantastic, but I wonder how it is today? Am I old and rusty? Could I still frag? I have no idea! That reminds me, I could write a very similar review about Unreal Tournament. :D (The classic one, I know there are several versions now.)
