Main game

The previous games of BL earned a fair share enough to play through, especially with (and because of) friends being in on it. I concede that Borderlands stand strong in the looter shooter niche gameplay-wise but in the end, that's about it. There were well-written characters that are quite colorful and gave this franchise a warm, explicitly tongue-in-cheek charm. The system with the classes and weapons had a wide range to keep your loadout fresh and up-to-scale with the challenges you come by.
But BL3 has its glaring problems in the middle of the road... The weapons and loot help me breeze through the combats, although the battle scenes are getting samey to the point of tedium (a familiar flaw in the previous games). And fighting your way to progress the quests and the main story has an underwhelming payoff, because the stories are forgettable and tries too hard to be funny. I have tried to carry on after my playmates dropped in the middle of it, but my time worth judgement has talked me out of it when I realize that I spent 20+ hours just getting half-way through.
For the above reasons, I fail to find an incentive …

For the above reasons, I fail to find an incentive to look forward to the progression and therefore consider it checked off. Since the experience has been barely up to standards in the previous games (BL2 comes as relatively the best), I decide it's time to break up and leave the main franchise in the rain. (But if there's a 'worthy' follow-up to the Tales From The Borderlands coming up in the future, I will raincheck on that)

getting back to grouvee and cleaning up my collections. limited review.
My title says it all. It's a Borderlands title. It's very much in the same vein of all of the other Borderlands titles. If you liked the others and are looking for more, look no further. If you didn't like the others, don't bother here.
To me, and where I am, it was very much a middle of the road experience. The mindless killing and humor falls a little flat these days in the world the way it is, but you can make that judgement for yourself.

Easily the best part of the game is the gameplay. The gunplay is great, and maneuvering is nice. However, it becomes quite repetitive pretty quickly and some areas can drag a bit. The story is okay and serviceable. Overall fun, and this being my first Borderlands game, definitely will check out some of the others as well.

No bueno. Writing and story are both shit. Gameplay is decent but not engaging enough to warrant playing through this adventure. Characters are all very weak.
The gameplay is fantastic, much more polished than previous entries in the series. New characters with new skill trees, hundreds of guns, and more. Overall an improvement for the series as a whole.
The writing, on the other hand, was weak. The characters fall flat (particularly the villains, who are a far cry from Handsome Jack) with little to no development. But the real kick in the teeth was your character barely existing in canon. Every cutscene acts like you just aren't there. And the former playable characters, people who have taken down Vault Monsters, seem to forget how to fight more than 1 or 2 bad guys at a time.
This does pick up a bit with the DLCs. Two are out at the time of this writing and both are solid with good self-contained stories and much better characters, including old returning characters and brand new ones.
Borderlands still holds first place among looter-shooters for me, but narratively there is nothing remarkable about this installment.
nice and funny game, but it's full of little but annoying bugs and it gets boring veeery very fast. didnt play bl 1, 2 or presequel, but i guess people who loved them will love this one as well
Every single NPC constantly talking for 5 minutes straight ruined the pacing of the game so badly.
And they added these so called "cool" villains here too. Ohhh, heeey, yeeeahh, suuure, guess what ? guess not ? these kind of lines they have. Someone really thinks teenagers speak like that int the daming industry. And they sound like they have a meat inside their nose. Like the one interview Miley Cyrus spoke like a frog.
Otherwise it's a classic Borderlands experience.
Took a temp break to go further back in gaming history and catch back up.
My first character save was corrupted somehow. Thankfully only lost two hours. Sucks I have to start over again though.
Started playing this again on Steam Deck. Man this formula is still fun to me, though it helps that I took a long break from it. I am actually fairly close to the end and started playing the mission with “Mickey Tricky” wherein you are beta testing an early access game that the NPC tells you has a lot of a bugs…. And then the game hard crashes. Had to reset my Steam Deck.
Too meta….
Borderlands 3 agarra todas las bases de los anteriores borderlands y las mejora, un mejor sistema de combate, más variedad de armas y personajes a elegir todos con distintas habilidades entre sí, una historia disfrutable aunque un poco corta a comparación del juego anterior
The writing in this really is as obnoxious as people say. I'd even take a relatively bland similar game like The Division over style and personality that I actively dislike, if they're going to force me to sit through it. And they really do, since the dialogue is baked into the game in such a way where in the limited time I played, I had very little opportunity to skip or even ignore any of it. Instead there were several instances of just... standing around in control of my character while people talk at me, or getting stuck following irritating characters around (and their AI pathing may randomly decide to mess up to drag it out a bit more). The action feels nice and punchy, and I liked the first two games back in their day, but it's been a long decade of changing tastes and standards since then, and there are other more personally appealing options out there (aka Destiny 2). I could tell pretty quickly that me and this game weren't quite going to work out.
