Spyro the Dragon is a platform game developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation. It stars the title character, a young purple dragon named Spyro and his dragonfly friend, Sparx, and is the first game in the Spyro the Dragon series. The first game was massively popular at its initial release and Spyro would later become one of the most recognizable, popular and respected gaming icons for the PlayStation gaming console. Spyro's best friend, Sparx the dragonfly, acts like the player's health meter and assists in gathering gems. The various dragons Spyro unfreezes along the way are also key characters in Spyro's progression through the game. Gnasty Gnorc is the main antagonist, who froze all the dragons of the land in crystal. Read less

Finished again. This is the game that I have finished more times. 30? Maybe 50?

I just love it too much. The trilogy are the best platforms games in history together with Jak & Daxter trilogy.

I just love this game too much. One of my favourite games of all time, and the best platform game with Jak & Daxter.

Yes, this is a solid platformer from the PlayStation 1 era. The PlayStation 4 remaster is very good as well, maybe better with the revamp and more precise controls (slightly huh!).

Pretty aggressively okay. The collectables all feel really arbitrary and the combat and movement all feel really primitive and stiff. It's not a bad game but it just doesn't feel fun to play or move like in Mario 64. I'm on the last level and I kinda just skipped a lot of the objectives because there doesn't feel like any …

Pretty aggressively okay. The collectables all feel really arbitrary and the combat and movement all feel really primitive and stiff. It's not a bad game but it just doesn't feel fun to play or move like in Mario 64. I'm on the last level and I kinda just skipped a lot of the objectives because there doesn't feel like any compelling reason to collect anything other than the progression gates that haven't really been a factor.

It's not really bad it's just kinda boring and that's almost worse...

100% completion although some gems were really difficult to get. You are the best dragon ever, Spyro

Just beat the reignited trilogy version of this game, really enjoyed some of it and was a bit annoyed by some of the enemies and level design at times. The game was thoroughly entertaining even when it was frustrating though, so I have to give it credit. Can't wit to jump into the other two at some point.

Started this game today, played about halfway through it. I think I've seen enough. Unfortunately, the game just hasn't aged very well due to sloppy controls and camera. I like the enemy design, the game is still beautiful to look at, the soundtrack is excellent, and it feels good to kill things, but just getting around the levels can be …
