Don't misunderstand the purpose of this game, though. The campaign part of this game is nothing special, mediocre. The essence is the multiplayer game. In fact, the campaign is a only tutorial for the multiplayer game. So, don't expect the tutorial to be very funny.

Play Once and forget kind of game in my opinion all the battlefield games this is in that pack too. except this has some good graphics and some good weapons in a couple of stories. So Giving 2 Stars overall is not a great game either.
Pros:
Cons:
Here are the individual story review and opinions.
Tank Story: Completed the Tank story, ok. too many weapons in my opinion and no ammo for the weapons that I do find and like, end up using the enemy's weapons. must have put an option like Fortnite to use small bullets for all pistols. but point for being authentic in a war story.
Plane Story: The story wise it is a bad one, like really not interesting at all, but I usually hate plane mode or air travel weapons but this story mode of planes gave a new perspective to me that is what interests me so a point for this. the same flaw with a lot of weapons and no ammo for this. One other setback I found is too many enemy planes and enemy planes and friend planes keep crashing into my plane and crashing and ending the game had to revive to play, really annoying. like why the enemy planes just crash into mine? can't they just fire or throw missiles, really didn't like that one bit. going on to the next story.
Armor Story: I really Like This so far, the gameplay of using armor and just using an 800 bullet gun to shred enemies is the best I have enjoyed this game till now, I really like the use of trenches in a hill with a simple story, coming to it, the story is ok and simply don't have too much complex and just a rescue mission. taking out the flaming enemies is a real hassle they kill you in a second and sneak behind you real tough to crack them but over all this is a good story I like. kept using the enemy's weapons only and switching.
Navy Story: This is just a small one in my opinion nothing difficult or easy just went like a novel. don't hate it nor like it either. moving on to the next story.
Dessert Story: Okay and good so far, this story is really boring but the sniping capabilities in this mode are the best in the game. but okay compared to other games. destroying the train was a bit of a hassle because don't know what to do with the canon and the train just destroys you if getting closer. but went on youtube and solved the mission overall okay gameplay in this mode.

Could this be the peak of the Battlefield singleplayer experience?
I loved my time with Battlefield 1, more so than with any other game I’ve played from the franchise so far (and I'm fast approaching the end of my journey). And easily, a big part of that was due to its atmosphere. From the return to world war environments (for all the war-related games out there, WWI stories seem underrepresented to this day) to the variety of landscapes, there was very little I didn’t enjoy about how the game was presented. So far, this is clearly the most accomplished Battlefield game in terms of its atmospheric prowess. Directly contributing to this is that, for the first time, I felt a Battlefield game was able to convey the truly chaotic nature of a war scenario. This was so well executed that, in all my years playing games, I only remember Call of Duty 2 as being able to instil in me a similar impression. As I went through the different battle moments, I couldn’t help but being brought back to Saving Private Ryan’s opening scene over and over, not necessarily because they share visual inclinations, but because they were both able to convey the insanity of a full-blown kill-or-be-killed confrontation so effectively by making masterful use of sight and sound. The audio, already a highlight in some of the previous Battlefield games, is particularly well accomplished here, and from weapons to desperate screams, everything sounds exactly as it should.
Somewhat paradoxical to its battle chaos ethos, another thing I felt was highly improved from past entries were the stealth mechanics, which you are often encouraged to engage with. These were, for the most part, truly satisfying to experience, and seemed like a great iteration on what was already a decent stealth offering in Hardline (though the experience in itself feels markedly different, which probably makes sense since they were made by different teams). One other aspect I also really enjoyed was the story, or rather the stories. Another BF1 original, this game features an episodic take on its narrative, with several largely unrelated chapters telling minor WW1 tales linking to historical references. And they were, to my surprise, strangely compelling. I thought this wouldn’t be the case since there was no real cohesive, connected story or characters to bond with. But by focusing on the individual rather than the larger scale, these snippets of war have an alluring emotional hook further enhanced by their competent voice acting (last mission excluded). I also appreciated how the gunplay felt, though here the level of quality was not as consistently delivered, since occasionally the shooting was quite inaccurate, and I even had moments where hitting an enemy that was right in front of you from inside a tank did nothing. But those aside, shooting was generally enjoyable, and I liked how BF1 not only allows but even encourages you to explore a variety of weapons, tools and approaches throughout the different missions. Aside from Chapter 4, which comes with a couple of misses, I also felt the maps and mission design were great, with everything feeling purposeful and offering just the right sense of scale at every turn.
There were things I disliked about this game. The binoculars system feels unnecessarily weird, having to control a pigeon with dreadful controls, especially when there was no need for that segment, was kind of ridiculous, and the game sort of ends with a whimper due to the last mission bing a bit meh in most respects. But in most other regards, Battlefield 1 is able to deliver a truly compelling campaign experience across the board. I even enjoyed the flying sequences, which is something that rarely happened with other games. This was easily my favourite Battlefield playthrough to date, and with just one more game to go in the franchise, it will be hard to knock it off its pedestal. 8.5/10

It’s heartbreaking, it’s brutal, it’s beautiful. But after that first mission, it kinda goes downhill. It’s still good, but there are a lot of issues. For one thing, a lot of the missions were just really difficult, and you might say ‘just play at a lower difficulty, which is valid, but I was playing at normal. At normal difficulty, I expect difficult parts to take a couple of tries and the easy parts to just be a breeze. There were at least like 1 or 2 parts in EVERY mission that took me like 5 tries. Maybe it’s just me being whiny, but some parts were just way too difficult. Another hangup I had with this game was that a lot of the time the guns didn’t feel good. Like I know they’re realistic to World War I, but I feel like they could’ve sacrificed the realism to make the guns just feel better to shoot. Otherwise, the campaign was alright, the set pieces were pretty cool for the most part, and the environments were great. My least favorite mission was probably ‘Friends in High Places’ cause it was just blowing up stuff with planes, until the end though which was really darn good. My favorite mission was ‘The Runner’ cause of how quick it was, and how great the characters were. Spoilers, but I was sure that the kid would die at some point, but it was a happy ending. The multiplayer of Battlefield 1 is also pretty good, but it’s not exactly for me. There are like 10 game modes, with like 5 of them dead, but all of the other ones sort of blended together for me. I knew that I needed to run to stuff and kill other players, but other than that I didn’t really care about what I needed to do. I can see how other people would have a lot of fun in multiplayer, but it isn’t for me. It was a bit convoluted, I didn’t feel rewarded enough, and because of how dark and gritty everything is, I just kept on dying over and over which wasn’t very fun. Overall, I had a pretty good time with this game. I think it’s a bit overrated, but I see why people like it so much.

Epic, almost cinematic battles for the checkpoint. Incredible team work (when one was working with a party with voice chat enabled), engaging and satisfying combat all set in an relative uncommon setting for video games (WWI). Single player wasn't bad either, just a touch short. I ended up reading a couple of WWI books after playing this game out of a spark of interest started with this game.
Overall, I wish it had a bit more of a single play component, but as a multiplayer game it was a blast. Totally got my money's worth at the time.

I first started my love affair with Battlefield after playing Bad Company 2. I had heard friends talk about battlefield 1943, but apart from that I had shamefully never heard, or played, any previous games in the franchise. I remember being a keen Call of Duty player at the time, enjoying 'World at War'. Playing Bad Company 2 felt so alien to me that I disliked it; who wants to run for 5 minutes to get to an objective? who wants to drive a tank? who wants to wait and plan out a strategy? Eventually I learnt to fall in love with the Battlefield Formula, and stuck with it through Battlefield 3, and 4.
Then Battlefield decided to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new direction for the franchise, and here we are with Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1 does feel like a battlefield game, it has improved on many features that have been a staple of the series, but it also has changed quite a lot.
The campaign...where do I begin. In an ever growing multiplayer world, campaigns are being pushed to the background. Battlefield 1 is a prime example of such case, to which it is sad to see that the campaign is but a shadow of the previous games standards. Battlefield bad company 2's campaign is my favourite out of bad company, battlefield 3, and 4. You had missions that made sense, were gripping, and fun to play. The story was linear, you followed characters, and generally had an end goal. With 'war stories' you can sense what they're trying to achieve - exploring stories, and accounts from different persepctives during the war - but it is completly overshadowed by the fact that these missions are quite clearly glorified multiplayer tutorials.
To illustrate this, the multiplayer has a few new mechanics that the singleplayer introduces you to; there's a mission to introduce you to tanks, a mission that sees you crash in a plane and equip yourself with the new elite class pickups that feature heavily in the multiplayer, there's a complete stealth mission that introduces you to the scout spotting system etc. and a mission that involves you capturing objectives, in order to prepare you for conquest mode in multiplayer. Now I know that previous Battlefield games use singleplayer to prepare you for multiplayer i.e tanks missions etc. but the way that Battlefield 1 simply spawns you in this sandbox like environment and gives a loose backstory, and then tells you to go and do some tutorial objectives, just seems rather lazy and tedious. For me, I couldn't help feel that the singleplayer was something that I had to tick off in order to get to the multiplayer, as if it were saying 'right, have you learnt how to use the classes and vehicles yet? okay you're ready to play multiplayer now and buy the dlc packs'. I really, really, hope that the 'war stories' formula is made more comprehensive in Battlefield V.
Thankfully the multiplayer is enjoyable, and addactive. Now that most of the DLC and season pass is free, it's an absolute joy to experience the variety of locations, and weapons. My favourite locations so far have been that within the Russian DLC, there is lots of opportunity for every class type to have their fun, whether it be long range snipers, or short range SMG players, the maps really do offer a lot of variety in terms of topology. Having praised the DLC maps, the standard maps do also have their moments, some maps lend themselves to short range combat, and others long range.
The flow and timing of the game is quite different compared to previous titles as the gunplay is slowed down. To emphasise this, they have a custom game mode called 'back to basics' which allows only authentic, bolt action rifles ot be used. This however, is sometimes interuppted by the kamikaze SMG players that run around and gun you down before you can even blink. Combine this with the over saturation of snipers, you might find yourself dying over and over again in short spaces of time if you do not pay attention to where you are in the map, and where the enemy snipers/SMG players are (thankfully there is some satisfaction in taking down a sniper player that has been picking you off the whole match).
Certain mechanics such as the random bullet deviation and supression can be quite annoying at times, although I am not sure where I stand on this issue as I like the authenticity of my guns not being affective at long range (missing shots etc.) but when I am close range and my gun misses when I have quite obviously lined up my target, can be very frustrating. Similarly, this effect will be increased when you're supressed. I would have much preferred the supression to be just a visual effect on the enemies screen, to which this would mean that they would struggle to aim. In its current state the supression alters the physical hadling of the weapon, as well as applying visual effects.
Overall though the classes, and team play feels nice. You can definitely see the effectiveness of the whole team, or multiple squads, taking an objective, compared to 2 or 3 players taking an objective. There are lots of nice choke points within the maps, and quite often battle lines are drawn mid way into a match. This is sometimes comprimised due to the map allowing small lanes around the back of the map to let players filter and flank past enemy lines.
I enjoy the vehicle gameplay, although there always seems to be one dominating enemy in a vehicle that destroys all novice vehicle players. I really do wish they also improved on the friendly base spawn philosphy and spawned vehicles within the base to create an armory, instead of restricting the vehicles to a menu bar... The customization of weapons is also a small issue I have with the game. I understand that the time period is a significant restraint, but the customization is extremely limited.
Battlefield 1 is an interesting venture to go on, it gives you a glimpse of the direction that the franchise is heading, and so long as DICE and EA can deliver on Battlefield V, it will be interesting to see where the franchise is heading. Battlefield 1 is a very good choise of game if you're looking for a period shooter, and are uncertain of Battlefield V's release, or you simply can't wait to pick up Battlefield V.
Campaign = 5/10 Multiplayer = 8.5/10 Replayability = 7/10 Fun Factor = 8/10

Battlefield 1’s multiplayer is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had in video games. Each map feels so unique in play style, using dynamic weather, destructible environments and other elements to build battles. I never feel alone, as it truly feels like war, working with your squad, as well as your team, as you rush to flags in conquest, pushing the enemies further back.
I always thought it was a shame none of my friends gave Battlefield 1 a chance, despite speaking so highly of Battlefield 4. Personally, I find Battlefield 1’s gunplay, behemoths, dynamic weather and setting a lot more compelling, whether you’re in the skies, on the ground or on the open sea.
With not just the multiplayer, I felt Battlefield 1 had a fantastic, interesting and rich Campaign consisting of different war stories set in World War 1. Aside from the main content, I decided to pick up the premium pass (when cheaper) consisting of multiple maps set in other areas during the war. These maps were a great addition.
After playing Battlefield 5’s beta, it just made me realise how much more I enjoy playing Battlefield 1.
At the end of the day this is just my opinion, I haven’t played every battlefield so I’m sure I’ve missed out (I’ve heard Bad Company 2 is very good).

As far as the multiplayer, lets just say that the previous battlefield's were better. Mainly due to the gunplay, there is no real reason to tap fire anymore at ranges. You just spray, SMG are so heavily rewarded for using them and there is hardly any recoil, just random accuracy. This removes more of the skill, same with snipers, it is a lot easier to snipe more.
That being said, it is pretty fun but not as good as other Battlefield games, less of a learning curve.

This is the first entry I've played in this series since 2002's Battlefield 1942. What brought me back to Battlefield was the inclusion of a quality single-player campaign and the World War I setting, which is a time period that's always interested me. The campaign was short, but a thrill the entire way through. The way that the game is split into chapters with each focusing on a different theater of war and different mode of combat (infantry, tanks, airplanes, etc) kept things feeling fresh and served as a great way to sample each of Battlefield 1's mechanics. The highlights for me were the bi-plane dogfights, a tank battle with clunky early tank designs, and a first-person stealth mission. Outside of these types of levels, the others were fairly standard modern FPS run-and-gun stages that were solid, but not especially ground-breaking. Regardless of their respective gameplay styles, what ties each of these levels is an incredibly rich sense of atmosphere that really emphasizes the chaos of the war. Some of the missions also featured some fairly engaging stories and cut scenes, which was a pleasant surprise.
For many players, the multi-player mode of Battlefield 1 will be the main draw. I'm not really much of an online multi-player FPS person anymore, but I played a couple of rounds to see what it was like after finishing the campaign. I found that it was pretty consistent with how I remember the classic Battlefield 1942 capture-the-flag battles playing back in the day, and thus longtime fans of this series will probably be pretty happy with it. I could see myself having a lot of fun with it if I got a group of friends together to play a big match together (especially in a LAN party-style setting), but just jumping in with random strangers online didn't really grab me.
Battlefield 1 offers an engaging but compact single-player campaign, and a solid multi-player mode for those who want it. Playing this game also made me realize how much I miss accessible arcade-style aerial combat games like Rogue Squadron and Crimson Skies, so I'll probably be keeping an eye out for a game like that in the future (maybe Ace Combat 7?). Back to Battlefield 1, anyone interested in both the single-player and multi-player mode will probably be very happy with this game, even paying full price. For those only interested in the single-player campaign, it's really enjoyable, but its brevity may make the value-conscious want to wait for a sale.
