Quite decent so far. Taking my time to learn the combat, explore the first area. Taking in the scenery.

I absolutely loved this game. The story is great. It got me into The Witcher book series as well as previous games. It has a high reply value. My opinion is quite biased since it's the first game I have ever played on ps4. It left me with a very positive impression :)

To whoever wants to be my friend, or follow me, or just stalk me online :) I will try to beat The Witcher 3 and The Crew, which I've been stalling to beat since their release, after my finals end which is approximately on January 10th, 2018; two days before my birthday :)

My backlog will hate this, but I have started a new run on my PC now :,D They reworked the whole UI - that's soo great!

I find a tinge of hope when my wife wants to see a video game. The other night she asked to see my new PS4 in action. I'm like "um..yes." Fired up The Witcher 3 and played for two hours. She saw about 20 mins of game play then went to bed, but I delved deeper into Alchemy and control during combat.
This used to be my philosophy regarding video games from generation 6 or above:
Too many menus, too long, too many cut scenes.
Now I feel like I changed and have accepted all video games. Sure the menus and controls take some getting used to but they add depth to the game. There is some hand holding in newer games but I don't necessarily mind that in longer games, especially being in my 30's and have other responsibilities. Now I have to focus on my wife, job, house, and bills.
Before, it was just homework and lots and lots of video games.

Without a doubt, and beyond hyperbole, the best game I have ever played. Nearly perfect in every way.

Till 2015, I was the guy with a penchant for the games I had played in my childhood. My top three games were Planescape: Torment, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. I would relentlessly criticize the current video game industry and the direction it was taking (and I still do).

But something changed with the release of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. The game is an absolute masterpiece and, in my opinion, creates an unforgettable experience very rarely seen before in gaming. It should be noted that I do not think that it is the perfect game. It has more negative points that many of the other games in my top ten list. It had a fair number of bugs when it was released, a redundant loot system, a lot of repetitive padding (especially those treasure hunts in Skellige), and a mediocre (but satisfyingly challenging) combat system.
However, the things The Witcher 3 (TW3) does well, it does phenomenally well. The soundtrack, the story, the choices, the side quests, the portrayal of human emotions, the fantastic depiction of the universe’s lore, the wide variety of enemies, and the role playing experience it provides are all brilliant and intricately linked together.
Finally, the real reason I consider TW3 to be the best game I have played to date is the Hearts of Stone expansion. It will introduce you to several complex characters, an absolutely thrilling narrative, a continuation of TW3's euphonic soundtrack, and one of the best villains in gaming history. In fact, if I had to introduce someone to gaming, I would tell them to only play this expansion. Seriously, play The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone.
Actual Score: 4.5/5

Played for awhile. Very good writing, but very dark and depressing. Supposedly there's an area that is less so. Maybe I should just stick to the main quest until I get there?
Also I suck at games that have combat like this, so that doesn't help.
