Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, where do I even start. This game is beautiful and a master piece. I haven't enjoyed any game as much as i have than one right here. I recommend this game to anyone who plays video game and even those of you who don't. While I will admit there is some flaws with there being a lot of the same voice actors and bugs and some minor story flaws but every one of those get overlooked when your traveling through the world exploring dungeons, robbing houses, assassinating targets, fighting dragons, collecting god artifacts and building your house. I cant stress enough how good this game is. And the replay ability is amazing with all the different races and builds and factions. Don't even get me started on all the stuff you find along your journeys cause still till this day i find something new each playthrough. i give it a high 9

It really injects some great flavor to the base game. I'm still pretty early on (lvl 7) but really loving playing the game. I'm amazed how good it still looks, granted I am playing it on ultra on my PC, but still, the landscapes are simply breathtaking, the music some of the best ever.

Still a great game

What can I say, it's Skyrim, so in 2021 you probably know everything there is to say. Just finished a playthrough with a new Dunmer character and it's still a great open-world RPG. Go and get yourself some mods for updated graphics and explore Tamriel, it's worth it.

I was just thinking about replaying Skyrim with some of the amazing mods i haven't tried yet so this seems neat.

And wow, i can't believe it's been almost a decade. Where the hell is TES 6? The gap between entries used to be 6-7 years at most.

Deciding when you are done playing Skyrim is largely academic. I had beaten the main story quests in the base game and in the DLC. I had joined the guilds and become the head of all the ones I cared to run. I got married, adopted some kids, and bought several houses, which I filled with the detritus of all my quests. I could have played so much longer and over the years I have. This game has been background noise in my gaming life since it was first released and I love it too much to be a trustworthy person to take a recommendation from concerning it. This time I quit playing because Mjoll got crushed by a trap after running into my hammer swings and I just didn’t have the heart to fight one more freaking Falmer without her. Next time, I might play for the couple hundred hours needed to say I’ve totally beaten the game but I probably won’t. I’ll probably just buy some houses, fill them with my treasures, and play until the game annoys me enough to put it away again for a few months. Todd knows I’ll buy the anniversary edition so I’ll be back.

I know, I know. I'm like, almost a decade late. BUT! This isn't reaaaally the first time that I've played this game; it's just that...the first time I played, it was only for a couple of hours.

First time around, I created a Wood Elf/Bosmer character. I vibe with the woodland types. This time around, I decided to go with a Khajiit. (To be honest, I woke up this morning and my first thought was, "I wanna play Skyrim. I'm gonna be an Argonian!" And then I didn't choose an Argonian... But I still have no idea why I woke up thinking about Skyrim.)

This isn't really the type of gameplay that I typically go for. I hate first person, which is part of why I don't play any shooters whatsoever. But in the few hours that I played today, I realized how much I don't like the third person option, and that first just feels way better.

Anyway, I might update occasionally, but since we all know what an undertaking this game is, I dunno how much time I'll really be able to put into it most days.

Also, my only other experience with TES was being a kid, trying out my brother's copy of Morrowind. Having really only played JRPGs in the RPG genre at that point, I was used to just picking up whatever items I found. Within 10 minutes of starting the game, I'd stolen something from someone's house, had half the town chasing me, and died. Never touched it again. Oof.

It's a solid title, holds up to Bethesda's reputation, and is a great step forward in the Elder Scrolls franchise. Even for a several-years-old game, the graphics have held up quite well, and the sound design is good too.

The downsides: some of the writing is excellent - immersive and engaging - but some of it feels like standard fantasy boilerplate. At times the side quests seem like just filler to waste my time. At other times they steal the show and make the world worth exploring. So with such a massive amount of content I find myself picking and choosing which content to complete more than I normally would in an open-world game (I am typically a completionist). Some of the quests were oddly written, with conclusions that make the player feel railroaded into completing them a certain way when there's an obvious alternative solution that just hasn't been written in as an option. I feel like the standard in RPG writing is a bit past that at this point.

The narrative suffers from the main problem in any game which lets the player create their own character: the main character itself lacks character or a true place in the world. Some other titles (like Mass Effect) have handled this slightly better, making the craft-your-own-hero thing work a little better, and sadly I don't think Skyrim did that very well. In Skyrim, if you want to feel like your character belongs and has a place in the game world, you've got to do the mental legwork yourself and create the story in your own headcanon. Otherwise you're just "generic fantasy adventurer hero".

Another Favorite

I First played this when it came out by accident and I had no clue what this game was gonna be about. Music 10/10 Gameplay 9/10 Story 8/10 Concept 8/10. The things I enjoyed most was environment and music. The side quest were better than main story.

I've completed this game on the PS3, not the ideal experience. Skyrim was the reason I build a PC to play modded Skyrim. Installed the last mod build of Ultimate Skyrim - Requiem. This will be the only and last build of the non Special Edition build. I've never completed a requiem build and plan to do that.

The Skyrim Special Edition build will be the Lexy's Legacy of the Dragonborn where I would like to do a completionism run.

Very few games prompt a distinct emotion when seeing their box art or title screen. Skyrim, with it's soaring soundtrack and open world adventuring is one of those games.

I was very late to the party with this game, picking up the "Special Edition" in Fall 2018, but man, did this game live up to the hype. The combat is a bit soft and the graphics still a touch dated, but everything else about this game is top notch - dungeons, exploration, side quests, character customization etc... this truly was and is a worthy entry into the Elder Scrolls series following Morrowind and Oblivion.

This game, now almost 9 years old, deserves it's spot in the "must play" classic lists of the 2010's.

Great game

I'm not really sure what I can say about this game that hasn't already been said. Skyrim is a fantastic game. The combat is good, although one of the weaker parts of the game. The story and quests are quite good as well. I love the world of Skyrim the most out of anything, though. Overall, really great game.

No reason judging Skyrim without its mods.

Mods are literally what makes Skyrim a 4 out of 5 (or 5 out of 5) experience and, without them, it'd be a buggy video game with little redeeming capabilities.

4 out of 5, play it on PC, get mods, go nuts with them. Your spiders now have tits.

I played this game soo much that im just about completely wiped out of this game. I don't think I could play it again. But I trully loved this game and it did soo many great things. I remember when I first got my hands on it, I had to sell most of my games at gamestop soo I could have the 60 dollars to buy it, by the time we got home my mom said it was time for bed and that I could not play until the next day after school. Soo I had to be careful. I turned down the tv real low and was greeted to one of the most amazing games i've played. Also the game that i've been the most hyped to play, because I had played the previous game oblivion and that was just as nearly good as this one. Theres nothing more that I could say about this game that everyone else hasnt already said. Soo just go play it.
