Imagine you're in 1987 and you wanted to play a good Shoot'em up on the NES... yeah just buy Gradius, or Section Z. nothing to see here.
To be fair, the game does try to do something, and it is not crazy difficult, although it does become a guessing game on when will the enemy respawn.
Worst game I have played in a long while. The main gimmick of collecting ship parts to gain temporarily stronger versions of your ship is genuinely interesting, and could probably have been utilised to great effects in the hands of the right developer.
Unfortunately, SNK decided to design this game as a close to unplayable experience, with the worst offender being the ludicrous difficulty. Long story short, your hitbox is too big and enemy bullet patterns both too fast and complex to avoid even after rigorous practice. As a result, the game becomes practically impossible at the stage 2 boss, with a bullet pattern of 13 simultaneous bullets shot from three different angles (5-3-5) being the tipping point for me. For fun, I tried beating it with the usage of rewind, and even then it was more difficult than beating something like Death in Castlevania or Yellow Devil in Mega Man regularly.
The complete lack of player consideration, flow and feel in game design and fun factor makes this one of the prime examples of poor arcade business practice. Play something like Galaga instead.
A dull Xevious-like with annoying sound effects. Probably too harsh of me for a 1985 release but I didn't find this one offered anything interesting.
