Beat on slow motion. It had some nice looking cutscenes but minimal story. It was technically a beat em up but handled a bit more like a shoot em up. Some enemies stood still or swooped through the screen not needing to be engaged, while other places had required kills before the screen would progress. There were only 3 moves. Punch was fast and could easily stunlock 1 or more enemies for easy kills. Occasionally enemies could break out, especially bosses. The kick was slower with longer range but the hit box was a little weird. It was best against enemies slightly to the right or left when attacking from above or below, and did not work well attacking on the sides. Then both buttons together was a jump kick. The enemies had set behaviours and hp that was independent of what they looked like. I had to engage the enemy to get them moving then recognize their patterns to best defeat them. Basic 1 hit enemies were easily killed by anything. Slow tough ones could be kited with kicks. Chargers could be kicked then move out of the way, then punch them on their way back. Circlers were difficult to avoid, I turned around and punched when they were behind. Stationary jump kickers were jump kicked. Throwers were best baited into missing or jump kicked. Don't remember other enemies. Thrown stuff was 1 hit kill but picking up my own barrel or rock cleared the entire screen. You could also pick up 1 grenade at a time, which was difficult to land, and a gun that 1 hit killed per shot. It took up the punch button so I used kicks to conserve ammo for the tougher enemies. Some enemies had grenades or guns too that killed in 1 hit, but they were easily avoided. The most difficult part by far was a choke with falling rocks because they killed in 1 hit and it was difficult to gauge where they were. The jump kick could go over them. 1 stage was an underwater shoot em up with very poor range on the gun. That stage was pretty shoddy. About half of the bosses were shoot em up giving you a gun with infinite ammo, and the others were simple beat em up bosses. They all had too much hp. Healing pickups were too clumped near the beginning of stages, making it more likely to die later. Though death didn't mean much as losing a life had no setback. Apparently infinite continues also restarted you with no progress lost but I only lost a few lives. Overall a decent game that probably would have been more fun with more shoot and less punch.
