What A Nice Surprise! Best Fighting Game So Far IMO

Preliminary: Nice, we had Marvel vs Capcom for uh Dreamcast I think? growing up. This is the most like it so far of this budding series. I lovvvve Blackheart. I'm not big into the Gem mechanic/gimmick, but otherwise I have alreayd gotten through 3 battles and am enjoying this. Even if I stop playing shortly, this still stands out among …

Even if I stop playing shortly, this still stands out among early fighting games adn tbh, the background colors and clear lineage to my beloved Marvel vs Capcom childhood game might boost this even higher.

Dang I just absolutely pulverized Captain America nice, it's nice to feel pretty good at a fighting game tho I'm sure it'll soon change--fighting games always get too hard for me. And I love the font for the "4 Hits" Combo etc. Bringing back many hours of gameplay on Marvel Super Heroes. It's interesting how much I played fighting games as a kid even tho it's never been a favorite genre.

Lots of heart-racing close moments as the game gets incraesingly difficult btu I am pushing through. It seems like it's programmed to fluctuate with your health and skill, which is a nice touch, reminding me of CTR and Mario Kart etc

If Magneto blocks one more of my attacks! Argh. Ironically he was one of the easier fights (well, easier than the one right before, Hulk)

Yesss the music for this Dr. Doom space station is so good.

Wow! I actually made it to Thanos! First time getting to the final boss in the chronology project! Says a lot about this game.

Nice. "Blackheart rises" And uh we take over the universe! Nice enter image description here

Look: 9/10 Great colors and backgrounds. Instantly took me back to childhood memories of these games. I may not be a big Marvel guy, but I am a big Marvel vs Capcom and related fan!

Sound: 9/10

Play: 9/10 Gotta give big credeit to the fact this is the first fighting game I've played through. I'm all tensed up and my palms sweaty, so I can't do this regularly! But I am glad I did it.

Feel: 9/10

Attachment: 9/10 Definitely will be playing this with my husband and brothers. Not to mention the connection to a childhood favorite game.

Overall: 9/10

Marvel Super Heroes was made in conjunction with X-Men: Children of the Atom, yet this definitely feels like the more advanced game of the two. Not only does it open up the Marvel universe for Capcom to play in, but these characters also control and handle better in Marvel Super Heroes. I like the idea of introducing the Infinity Stones as a way of utilizing special moves, and having an actual narrative that uses them for a story function is a nice way to integrate gameplay and story. It's still weird some of the characters that are used (Shuma-Gorath and Blackheart are here, but Thor and Cyclops are relegated to end credits scenes? Apparently, Capcom wanted them, but were told no, yet still), but by adding these unexpected characters, it ends up fleshing out later games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Another strong collaboration between Capcom and Marvel, and it does seem like every new one only makes this union even better.
