MPO is the fourth Metal Gear title made specifically for the PSP and the first one to retain the series' action-based play mechanics. It is the first canonical outing of the Metal Gear Solid series for a portable platform, following the storyline of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Set in Colombia in 1970, six years after the events of Snake Eater, the game follows the exploits of Naked Snake after his former unit, FOX, goes renegade. The game also chronicles the eventual founding of FOXHOUND and The Patriots, as well as the inspiration of the military state Outer Heaven. A not so good attempt at making a Metal Gear Solid portable.

It's pretty bad. First of all it's biggest flaw is that the map design is too clustered, there's no proper radar to compensate with. Stealth isn't that fun and I feel for it's level design it would have to have a up view rather than a third person view to work better. Also it's too slow paced within its small …

It's pretty bad. First of all it's biggest flaw is that the map design is too clustered, there's no proper radar to compensate with. Stealth isn't that fun and I feel for it's level design it would have to have a up view rather than a third person view to work better. Also it's too slow paced within its small spaces, to get a new member you need to grab a man and slowly walk back to the start of the map and put them in a truck.

I'd like to mention that it seems that Peace walker sought to improve all issues it has by being the better portable metal gear solid, like making places smaller, more confined, and more straight to the point, it at least removes the entire truck thing. I can't get into it it's really boring and it doesn't help that it's not cannon (or so it is said to be, MGSV apparently tried to call it back?), or that it tries to lecture me pseudointelectual babble of why a soldier fights which is probably not politically literate.
