I know that each entry in the Ys series is a standalone adventure with a few recurring characters, but come on man, don't make me love all these characters and then be off to the next adventure like nothing happened. It honestly left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be playing another game in the series. In my head canon, Adol stays in Carnac and later becomes Iluna's son-in-law as I promised lol.

Todays session was fun, got skills unlocked for adol since i been playing priarily tarja but then i realize breaking and then adol switching for dps is OP, also got more practice blocking and was able to beat a challenge lv 75 boss with blocks, this game feels a lot more comfortable and excited to continue on with story!!

Got to Chapter 5 today and really liking it a lot, the deep gem chart is a bit confusing but I think i re-made my characters better, breaking more and tanking more , ONLY bad part i did not like was the stupid worm, it was the dumbest fight ever and a gimmicky one at that

Absolutely ADORE this game. I went in it with very low expectations since I heard so much bad stuff about it. Bad combat, bad exploration, bad music, the whole lot. After 100% completing it on inferno I'd say it comes pretty close to Ys 8 for me. Wonderful story, I love it, Karja is a great protagonist. My biggest complaint …

My biggest complaint would be that there's no enemy variety after like 30% of the way through, there's a whole lot of reskinned enemies. The ship combat is also pretty iffy, it feels quite stiff. The story does take a little bit to get going but I'd say the game as a whole is a pretty huge step in the right direction after 9. The loss of the party system was made up for by being really invested in Karja for me

70+ hours. 100%. Loved it. Looking forward to starting a New Game + (something I NEVER do) at some point in the future.

I love Ys; it's one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. I was so hyped for this game when it was announced, but now that I'm playing it, I'm not feeling it. As a matter of fact, I think it might be shite.

I'm quite liking this game overall, but the constant interruptions (tool tips, tutorials and dialogue outside of cutscenes) are really making this game difficult to keep focused on. There are so many pauses I wind up picking up my phone and checking all my notifications, then I forget the game is on.

Part of the reason Ys 8 works SO well is that the story gets interesting right away, and you're just sorta left alone to go exploring. In this one, I feel like I've been playing 4 or 5 hours and had maybe like 30 minutes of gameplay? Like I love a game focused on narrative, but MAN I want this game to stop taking control from me so I can get invested.
