Tokyo is in full lockdown, the government's swift, coldblooded response to a surprise demon invasion. Trapped within the sprawling metropolis is the city's helpless populace, forced to turn on each other in order to survive. A mysterious piece of technology, the COMP, falls into the hands of you and your peers. This device allows you to form contracts, forcing demons to serve you in battle against the otherworldly creatures. There are others with COMPs, so-called demon tamers, who seek to use the demons to satisfy their own whims-be they for justice, peace, or power-in the chaos that was once downtown Tokyo. Where did the demons come from? Why did they appear? Who created the COMPs, and what is their purpose? These questions must soon be answered, for if you fail to solve the mystery, much more is at stake than your own lives. Less

Sopravvivere a Tokyo in Lockdown

Voto: 9.5/10

Kind of hate this game. It’s super difficult and it really isn’t the kind of game where you can customize and play the way you want to. I don’t even understand the basic mechanics. I’m not sure how enemies are able to act 3 times before I act once, but okay. The skill system is super restrictive because each demon and party member is limited to 3 command skills. The speed is also super slow, which makes the constant level retries feel even worse. This is my first SMT outside of persona and I’m not really enjoying it, which is a shame because I like tactics games.

Beat on loan from my coworker using her DS. This was my 1st Megami tensei game and I greatly enjoyed the game. Reminded me of Final Fantasy Tactics and has the usual fascinating SMT setting/plot. I do not remember details other than I made the main guy a warrior and I think one of my end demons was Titania with reflect physical attacks. The girl I made a mage and I don't even remember who else was in the game or how many units could fight at once.

Lots of fun but there were a few annoying things. Stupid loss conditions like "don't let any weak AI controlled civilians die" or "don't let any enemies reach this specific tile". I hate nonsense like that. Put in a bonus or penalty related to those conditions but game over should only happen if you get your entire team killed. The fusion system is overly complicated (but better than earlier games) and I disliked fooling around with the auction to buy demons for fusion. I completely failed to notice that you can view the enemies before deploying your own units, so you can design units that country the enemy. I did not realize …

I completely failed to notice that you can view the enemies before deploying your own units, so you can design units that country the enemy. I did not realize this until late game, but I kept my forces versatile so it did not matter. Don't remember what ending I got; I assume the good or law. Overall give it a 7.5/10.

Would buy and play again if/when I get a DS.
