Renegade's story takes place during the final days of the First Tiberium War originally depicted in Command & Conquer. GDI's top three Tiberium research specialists have been abducted by the Brotherhood of Nod. The player assumes the role of GDI commando Captain Nick "Havoc" Parker, who is assigned to rescue these experts. He conducts missions which take him all over the world in various countries and climates, both indoor and outdoor, and his actions greatly affect the current state of the war. As the game progresses it is revealed that the specialists have been forced into biochemistry research for the Brotherhood's top secret "Project Re-Genesis," An attempt to create genetically enhanced super-soldiers with the aid of Tiberium. As the player plays through a mission, the in-game EVA, or Electronic Video Assistance, periodically updates with mission objectives. EVA logs and updates all objectives and their current status. Objectives are categorized into three categories: primary, secondary and tertiary. The completion of primary objectives are crucial for that mission's success. Secondary objectives are not required for mission completion, but may assist in game play. Tertiary missions, which are usually hidden, do not assist much in game play, but will affect your final "rank" at the end of each mission. Read less

It's worse aspects came close to driving me away.. It's a substandard shooter. Harder enemies can 360 No scope you with rocket launchers leading to save reload type cheating. some control parts are frustrating. Many weapons arent really well implemented and have limited utility. Guns? They are cool, and quite a few. Music? It's great but the audio quality is crap and all the sound volume is not mastered at all and it makes it very hard to enjoy at all (there were also sound pops and glitches). Maps are pretty good though, and it still has a certain style, and isn't a bad Y2K quirk type game.. I find it looks good. Color is heavy saturated, bright all over everything. It looks a bit like half-life source engine era but operates in larger more open environment type levels that can have dynamic mission objectives as you explore or uncover more. The feel of It suprisingly reminded me of Far Cry Blood Dragon. A current day GI Joe videogame built off of the likeness here would be interesting, as that's pretty much what it feels like and there hasnt been a decent GI Joe game in forever.
