Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth. Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication. The Dark side of rage quitting

I quit at the first big boss (Tiamat). I quite like Darksiders for a long while. Enough to play over 10 hours of it. While I rolled my eyes at the ridiculous set-up, the combat and levels were interesting and felt meaty to play. The puzzles were nice and the powers varied. I don't like boss battles in general, and this one was annoying as hell. Very specific aiming and timing, coupled with the difficulty of playing on PC and in particular the finicky control of the thrown weapon requiring three of four button presses to line up and use, made worse by the constant need to dodge incoming attacks that break you out of the lining up. Considering one cannot change the difficulty level mid-game and there's no skipping the battle, I just abandoned the game. Too bad, but I wasn't having fun any more. After four or five tries I just quit.

A truly awesome game showcasing an epic story and incredible attention to graphical detail. So much blood & gore hack and slash fun! Each boss offers a unique character and provides an impressive battle. A game controller is highly recommended to play this console port. There are two levels that are really lengthy puzzle environments which can cause frustration to the point of not wanting to continue playing. One comes very early at the Cathedral. All I have to say is stick with it. By no means is this game easy, but the experience is well worth it.
