That all being said, man, TR1 is a master piece. Everything is so fucking atmospheric. The music is top notch, the whole concept is genius. The level design is right on Dark Soul's trails! Regardless, finding these forgotten places just feels so so good. My favorite level is the Colosseum, though. (the DLC shows how you could fuck the whole concept up but the base game masterly combines puzzles, exploration, and awe).

There is a personal involvement for me here as well: The guy who looked after me as a kid was a Tomb Raider fanatic. We played all the time. When he finished the game, he immediately started over this time: not using health packs. Next time: don't get hit. Next time: don't use weapons. So we played Tomb Raider for years and it resulted in me feeling always the urge to 100% a game. Otherwise it's not fully experienced.

My friend passed away a few years ago, therefore, I always wanted to revisit the Tomb Raider series in his honor. I was not blinded by nostalgia, these games are good. Determined to 100% every one of them (once my TR mojo is back)
