I’m not that familiar with visual novels but I did think the writing in this was compelling and even though the ending I got felt extremely abrupt, I could see a clear line from the decisions I made to the result I got. I’m definitely curious to play the other origins and to pursue the questlines I didn’t take in addition to making other choices in the routes I did follow but as a game I didn’t find it fun enough to play to immediately reroll another character. The time limits made things feel disjointed and my character was always on the verge of Hulking out from hunger even though I fed every chance I got, which was annoying. Overall it’s a great time for someone who loves a narrative game but it leaves a lot on the table for feeling like a cohesive gaming experience.

It's been A LOT since I had this much pure, unadulterated fun with a game. The plot is neat, the characters are great, the writing is glorious, and all in all it's a quite fun time all around and now I have a physical need to get the sequel.

vampire stories

Gameplay: 6 Graphics: 6 Audio: 6 Longevity: 8 Personal Impression: 8 Final vote: 7

Graphic adventure in many languages (something to be appreciated). The story is compelling and there are a multiplicity of variables. More could have been done on the audio and video compartment. Longevity is more than good. Entertaining and captivating to the end. Excellent

I wanna go roll some dice

Ran through my first playthrough as a Brujah. The plot is deliciously true to VtM in both vibe and lore. The art was lovely. The music was spot on.

Ran through my first playthrough as a Brujah. The plot is deliciously true to VtM in both vibe and lore. The art was lovely. The music was spot on.

My only complaint would be that there isn't really a save option for you to be able to try different ways of handling a situation. There's something to be said of being forced to stick by your choices, but there's nothing stopping someone from playing that way anyway. Would just be nice to feel like I can see the various routes without having to play the entire game over again.

Something that's not really a negative, but would have been nice, would have been something to show our hunger. The game does fairly well at letting you know you have to feed, but without a mechanic to monitor it yourself, it's harder to make those decisions like you would playing at the table: let it roll and take a chance, or take the opportunity to feed. It's also unclear if using your power can potentially increase your hunger as it does at the table, or if they've ignored that mechanic - again, because of the lack of a hunger track. Not having it didn't really hinder the game in any way, but something that would be nice to have in any future titles.

Overall, this was a very fun game and look forward to playing with different clans and with some different choices.

Good story but no system

I enjoyed the story. I won't give any details but I felt like it had a good wrap up. You do make all your own choices but I wonder if the outcome could have been different? I suppose I would have to replay it to find out and I didn't enjoy it THAT much. Also, there was no system, it …

I enjoyed the story. I won't give any details but I felt like it had a good wrap up. You do make all your own choices but I wonder if the outcome could have been different? I suppose I would have to replay it to find out and I didn't enjoy it THAT much. Also, there was no system, it seemed? No character sheet with stats to develop? Maybe that was behind the scenes? Anyway, I've never played WoD games so I don't know the mechanics but the Werewolf the Apocalypse visual novel had a character system where your choices resulted in stats changes. That wasn't available here and might have made it more interesting. Still, a worthwhile game if you like visual novels.

I really wish I could recommend this, the dialogue writing is good. Music and art style sells the ambience perfectly, something I never thought would be possible in a Visual Novel type game. Characters are charming and suits the universe but despite every positive the main story drops the ball hard.

Characters are charming and suits the universe but despite every positive the main story drops the ball hard.

The game needs multiple playthroughs, not because there are different choices to make but rather "side contents" are gated off with a time limit for the main plot. Each of the 3 playable characters get a unique start to the story but after that your clan choice has very little impact on the story. Worst of all, the main story is too short and ends just when you think the story is starting to get interesting. That alone sours the whole experience.

i think this being the first visual novel i've ever played, i liked it. in a few hours it reminds you the dark scheming world of vampire the masquerade we all know and love. looking forward for the next year's big release.
