The core of the game is exploration. The payoffs can be slow and sometimes unimpactful, but sometimes it is all about the fun of having an idea and trying it out. If it fails you can kind of feel like you wasted 15mins, but if your experiments exceed I feel like a genius. You continuously gain clues to further lead you towards making a great discovery at the end of the game.
The fun in exploration is not only found in connecting the dots of the puzzle that is Outer Wilds. It is also overcoming the dangers of a hostile solar system. The tension is real sometimes as you rush to complete a task knowing bad things a re about to happen. Also the physics and the unique hostilities of each planet make each new discovery really fun.
Story: 4/5
The story though told through the past really comes to life as you explore planet to planet. The story is all text based so if you aren't a fan of reading beware.
Presentation: 4.5/5
