It's crazy that the development behind this game is short(10 month long development time) yet it manages to feel even more polished than the remake of its predecessor that came out 10 years later (which moreso sloppily took the foundation of 0), let alone, its predecessor. So far, this is my favorite beat em' up combat to play with in the series (0, Kiwami, and currently 2) despite the slow heat build up. The basic combos feel so much faster, yet still feel punchier than the rush style in 0/Kiwami. I love the feel of the lock on here. I LOVE the turning attack quickly transitioning you into a rush combo and how you can perform it at any time in the combo.
And the story kicks off strong too. A year after the events of the first game, you can tell that the Tojo Clan is damaged here and how Kiryu still wants to make things right. It's a briskly paced game too.
Also a man gave me 30,000 yen for winning a single prize from the crane game. God bless.
