Another Mega Drive game I didn’t play back then because it was too late plus I didn’t trust Konami to put the effort in after those many years being exclusive to Nintendo consoles. Another Mega Drive game I didn’t play back then because it was too late plus I didn’t trust Konami to put the effort in after those many years being exclusive to Nintendo consoles. And I was wrong: visually stunning, with lovely musics, a great sense of humour, bosses that are tough but fun and smartly conceived, and a fighting system that hits the right spot by not being overly complex while still being more rich and layered than it appears at first. Sure, there’s no enemies flying around in Mode 7 but it clearly is in the discussion for best of the series.

Heart pounding boss battle, finger numbing combos and pizza — tell me you don’t like that.

Vabriant and stunning arcade style graphics helps improve the game’s timeless replayability.

Should be called Ninja Turtles Re-Skinned

It wasn't a bad game, but it did feel like it just used assets from previous Turtle Romps in order to pump something out for the Genesis.

In fact I think almost every boss in the game was re-used from a past Turtles game, same with the levels themselves.

A fun enough experience but Turtles in Time is superior.

Game #44 Completed. Fantastic beat'em up completed on Hard with Donatello. Finished at least 1 level with the other Turtles.
