Morcys's review of Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection

If any of you plan to play Final Fantasy 4, I definitely recommend playing the PSP version; it's by far the best one. FF4 was my favorite game when I was a youngling. The 4 out of 5 stars rating that I gave is for the original Final Fantasy 4, not for the sequel (The After Years), which in my humble opinion was a humongous pile of you know what.enter image description here

In the middle of doing all this code upgrading, I managed to finish my playthrough of FFIV on the Vita. That's a really cool version of the game if you're looking to try out an older Final Fantasy. The sprites are beautiful, and they did a really good job with the music. They didn't change any of the gameplay really, so the amount of random battles is beyond infuriating, but it's still a fun trip down memory lane. The game opens up a bunch of challenge dungeons after you beat it too. I don't know if I have any desire to go through any of them, but it's neat that they're there.

If I was going to get into the Final Fantasy series from the early points, this is the one I'd start with. I don't think playing 1 - 3 are worth it today (just my opinion). Give it a try if you have a Vita or a PSP.
