Cuphead is a run-and-gun action game focused primarily on boss battles. Its visual style is modeled after 1930s cartoons, using traditional hand-drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings. Players control Cuphead or Mugman in single-player or local co-op, traversing themed worlds, acquiring new weapons, and unlocking super moves. The game includes both boss encounters and side-scrolling platforming stages.

Ya know, outside of like, 1 boss in zone 3, Cuphead just wasn't that hard. Maybe it's just the type of game I'm really good at or something but it really was kinda easy. I didn't even go for A+'s or anything, and maybe if you shoot for the perfect score I could see it being more challenging, but simply getting through it? Kind of a breeze. Now I'm in Inkwell Hell and I'm still not having much trouble. Be nice to finally add this thing to the "completed" category any day now.

So...is Cuphead just NOT actually that challenging or am I just EXTREMELY good at platformers of all kinds? Cause I don't understand the generalization that it's "soul crushing difficult". I mean, it can be tough at times, but not like the internet as made it sound like it is.

I'm going back right now and trying to A+ all the bosses, or as many as I can anyway, just for the hell of it and, man, it's pretty easy. I don't get it.

The old timey cartoon graphics are unlike anything I've ever seen before. It truly feels like you are watching Looney Tunes or Merry Melodies from the 1930s. Amazing and fantastic.

The game is basically run and gun stages, combined with boss fights. The run and gun stages are pretty easy, but the boss fights will test your patience. You will die a bunch of times, while figuring out patterns. With time, every boss is beatable once you learn how they operate.

Challenging game for sure, but more than playable. Usually I don't care that much about graphics, but with this game they are integral to the experience.

After two and half years I've finally beaten Cuphead. That goshdang Robot took me god only knows how many tries but its finally done. All the extra time I have right now has inspired me to go back and complete the games that stumped me or I lost interest in years ago. Here's hoping beating all the Celeste B sides …

All the extra time I have right now has inspired me to go back and complete the games that stumped me or I lost interest in years ago. Here's hoping beating all the Celeste B sides and Chapte 8 and 9 are as fun as beating the main game was.

¡Funny and quite challenging! For me, this is a game that achieved a good balance between defiance and enjoyment, but you need to know that to play this game you need patience and perseverance. So go and enjoy yourself!

There's some much of this game that I love. Even thou the game is quite challenging it is also very enjoyable. The music and art design is astounding. But you must know that the game is really challenging, so you have to be very patient because you are going to start over again so many times.

Well... if anyone wants more Cuphead, this should definitely have you covered. Absolute madness.

I'm trying to think of a recent copycat incident quite as shameless as this...

So Cuphead is HARD and I die ALOT but man it is the opposite of frustrating. The artwork paired with the fluidity of gameplay is pretty sweet. Although I can see myself taking breaks and playing other games in between stints of this one. I usually don't like doing that, but this seems necessary, don't want to eventually hate …

Although I can see myself taking breaks and playing other games in between stints of this one. I usually don't like doing that, but this seems necessary, don't want to eventually hate it if that's even possible. All in all glad I've finally purchased this game (& I bought it for switch which I think is the best way to play)

This game is fantastic. My partner and I have played a couple nights now and we hit Inkwell Island 2 last night. This is one hell of a ride, and despite the number of times we die we immediately jump right back into the fray.
